What youll do:
Line/coat interior surfaces of tank cars using airless spray equipment. Mix and apply cold set and phenolic materials. Apply all layers (prime, intermediate and top) with consistently defect-free results. Employees at this level require no supervision and give direction to Interior Preppers and other Interior Liners by regularly performing as team leader of a three-member working unit involved in preparing and lining cars. Observes all standard safety practices. Maintain and complete all required records.
What you'll need:
• Complete understanding of pre-bake and final bake of forced cure linings, equipment sizing (tip size, pump pressure, pump ratio, etc.). • Ability to mix all lining materials and the effects of temperature and humidity. • Ability to operate small power tools. • Knowledge of proper preparation of tank cars for lining. • Knowledge of and ability to perform emergency rescue operations. • Must pass level 2 coatings certification test (normally acquired with 3 years' experience). • Previous experience in an industrial, manufacturing, or construction environment is beneficial. • Previous experience in rail or steel manufacturing industry is a plus!
