Overview

The Senior Analyst, Pricing Strategy with the Sr. Manager of pricing collaborates with the Merchandising team to develop and maintain effective base and promotional pricing strategies for both retail and online sales channels. As a subject matter expert in pricing optimization tools, the Senior Analyst will provide strategic advice, conduct testing, and implement pricing initiatives aimed at maximizing profitability and margin. This role upholds the integrity of Office Depot pricing by maintaining pricing family structures, ensuring compliance with vendor MAP pricing requirements and monitoring competitor pricing data thereby enhancing customer experience and perception.

 

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with the Merchandising team to develop, test, implement and maintain effective base and promotional pricing strategies for both retail and online sales channels utilizing pricing optimization software to maximize sales and profitability
  • Track key business metrics (e.g. sales, share, value perception, margin, customer attributes, etc.) to continually evaluate pricing effectiveness and refine pricing strategies as needed to maximize sales and profitability
  • Pricing maintenance including establishing and updating family structures, ensuring compliance with vendor MAP pricing requirements, competitor price matching and execution of Merchant initiated price changes to ensure great customer experience
  • Manage and monitor competitive pricing data and matching strategy to ensure that we have accurate data to base pricing recommendations and are maximizing ROI for our pricing optimization software

 

Education and Experience:

  • Level of Formal Education: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
  • Area of Study: Business Administration, Finance, Mathematics, or Economics
  • Years of Experience: Minimum 4 years experience in related field
  • Type of Experience: Data Analysis and Reporting, Pricing Strategy Development, Pricing/Profit Optimization
  • Language Skills: Proficiency in English: Ability to read, write, and communicate fluently in English, with strong grammar and vocabulary skills. Experience in drafting reports and engaging in professional correspondence.
  • Technical Competencies:
    • Advanced Proficiency in MS Excel
    • Experience with Pricing Optimization software is not required, but preferred
  • Skills and Ability:
    • Data Analysis and Reporting: Gather and analyze internal and external pricing data, creating comprehensive reports to support executive decision-making processes for strategic pricing adjustments.
    • Interpersonal Skills: Building and maintaining positive relationships with colleagues
    • Time Management: Demonstrated ability to manage time efficiently, balancing data entry tasks with communication duties without sacrificing accuracy or quality.
  • Personal Attributes:

Pay, Benefits & Work Schedule: The salary range for this role is $67,900/year to $105,000/year, however all state and local minimum wages will be complied with, resulting in a possible adjustment to the salary range displayed.
