Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Chartered Accountant (CA).
  • 7 years of experience in accounting or a related function, or 5 years with an advanced degree in accounting, business, or finance.

Preferred qualifications:

  • MBA or MSA.
  • Experience with inventory and fixed asset accounting.
  • Familiarity with coding languages such as SQL or Python.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a cross-functional, fast-paced environment, and to drive complex operational initiatives.
  • Ability to work with a variety of data integration technologies.
  • Excellent investigative skills, combined with impeccable business judgment with the ability to communicate effectively and influence executive management.

The Acquire to Retire (A2R) team manages the global accounting for Google’s entire Capital Expenditure (CapEx) portfolio, manufacturing operations, and related Operational Expenditure (OpEx).

As a Technical Infrastructure Operational Expenditure Senior Analyst, you will find innovative ways to deliver controllership excellence in partnership with our Technical Infrastructure (TI) and Finance teams. You will build a comprehensive understanding of the financial statements and the business, develop and track metrics to assess the health of our business, and deliver an immersive story to our leadership team surrounding our results. As an expert in Operational Expenditure analysis, you will identify opportunities for efficiencies and work with our partners to prioritize initiatives. You will also be a key advisor to cross-functional partners including FP&A, Corporate Accounting, Operations, and Cloud Controllership.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $129,000-$187,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities

  • Partner with Technical Infrastructure and Finance to develop and monitor key metrics to assess the health of the business and drive efficiencies.
  • Own operational expenditure reporting and present financial information to different audiences, including finance leadership and business partners.
  • Provide or consolidate commentary for flux analysis, partnering with the business and financial planning and analysis (FP&A) to focus in on business driver details.
  • Provide oversight on allocation methodology and allocate results, ensuring completeness, accuracy, and adherence to US Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
  • Extract and manipulate large data sets and telling the story behind those numbers through various data visualization solutions.
