    Location: Charlotte, NC

    Duration: 12 Months

    Work Engagement: W2

    Work Schedule: Hybrid; 3 days in office, 2 days remote

    Summary:

    Wells Fargo's Enterprise API Management team is seeking a highly skilled Senior API Integration Engineer to support and enhance enterprise API management initiatives within the Credit Card Acquisitions Platform. This role is responsible for designing, developing, modernizing, and supporting API-driven solutions while driving strategic platform transformations, including API migrations, cloud-native development, and automation initiatives.

    The ideal candidate has strong expertise in Apigee, IBM DataPower, Java development, cloud-native architectures, and API lifecycle management, with a passion for building scalable, secure, and high-performing integrations.

    Responsibilities:

    • Lead the design, development, and support of enterprise API and integration solutions.
    • Drive complex API management initiatives across Apigee and DataPower platforms.
    • Lead API migration efforts from IBM DataPower to Apigee while ensuring platform stability, scalability, and operational excellence.
    • Design, develop, and maintain secure, scalable APIs and microservices using Java and cloud-native technologies.
    • Implement and enhance automation, DevOps processes, and CI/CD pipelines to improve deployment efficiency and reliability.
    • Troubleshoot and resolve production incidents, performance issues, and platform escalations.
    • Collaborate with engineering, product, architecture, and business teams to deliver strategic technology solutions.
    • Provide technical leadership, mentorship, and guidance to junior engineers and support team members.
    • Partner with stakeholders to drive API adoption, platform modernization, and continuous improvement initiatives.
    • Ensure adherence to enterprise security, governance, and API lifecycle management standards.

    Qualification:

    • Applicants must be authorized to work for ANY employer in the U.S. This position is not eligible for visa sponsorship.
    • 4+ years of software engineering experience.
    • 4+ years of hands-on experience designing and developing APIs using Apigee.
    • 4+ years of Java development experience.
    • 3+ years of experience with JavaScript and modern front-end frameworks such as Angular, React, or Vue.js.
    • 2+ years of experience developing microservices-based applications.
    • 2+ years of experience building cloud-native applications using AWS, Azure, or PCF.
    • 2+ years of experience with IBM DataPower or similar API gateway technologies.
    • 2+ years of experience working with relational and NoSQL databases, including SQL Server and MongoDB.
    • Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
