Pay Range:

Charlotte, NC-bill rate is $99.73 (Pay Rate: 70.23)

PLANO Texas- bill rate is $104.62 (Pay Rate: 73.67)

Job Description

We are seeking an Application Solutions Architect to join our dynamic team supporting Corporate Channels, Payments, Accounting Services, Commercial Card, and related domains within Global Payment Solutions. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in commercial banking technology, payments and cash management, and modern application architecture, and a proven ability to define end-to-end solution designs that align with enterprise standards and deliver measurable business outcomes.

Responsibilities:

• Define architectural vision and solution architecture aligned with business strategy, enterprise principles, and platform standards.
• Articulate solution intent, operating environment, primary systems and interfaces, and non-functional requirements.
• Collaborate with stakeholders and vendors to ensure solutions are fit for purpose and assess the impact of design decisions.
• Partner with business and technology teams to shape solution intent and architectural vision across a global portfolio.
• Develop high-level designs rapidly and refine as requirements evolve, ensuring modular, flexible, and adaptable architectures.
• Apply best practices, templates, and documentation standards to produce clear architectural deliverables.
• Partner with Product Managers/Owners to plan and prioritize technology backlog items for the architecture runway.
• Provide guidance to development teams on architectural aspects and offer solution options to remove impediments.
• Conduct design reviews to confirm security, performance, scalability, usability, reliability, and other non-functional requirements.
• Operate as an individual contributor within a collaborative environment across the US, EMEA, and APAC.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• 10+ years in Banking/Financial Services technology with strong domain knowledge in Corporate Payments, Commercial Card, Corporate Channels, Accounting Services, and Liquidity Management.
• Proficiency in modern application architecture including APIs, microservices, and integration platforms.
• Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP and familiarity with DevOps, CI/CD, Docker, and Kubernetes.
• Strong understanding of application development in Java, .NET (C#), Python, and JavaScript/TypeScript frameworks such as Angular or React.
• Solid knowledge of SDLC methodologies, including Waterfall and Agile, and broad IT knowledge across financial software, middleware, and databases.
• Strong communication skills to engage both technical and non-technical stakeholders, with demonstrated analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to translate complex concepts into multiple architectural views and drive shared service strategies and continuous improvement.

Preferred Skills:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent work experience.
• TOGAF 9 certification.
• Cloud Solutions Architect certification on AWS, Azure, or GCP.
