The SciY division is in the path of designing a new scientific software tools environment. This division is highly specialized in providing state of the art tools and focusses on developing the lab of the future by taking advantage of the possibilities AI offers.

Responsibilities:

The Senior Applications Scientist at SciY serves as a technical expert and customer-facing specialist, enabling successful adoption of SciY solutions by translating scientific workflows and business needs into effective demonstrations, pilots, and technical engagements. The role supports sales, partners, and customers through pre-sales activities, solution design, and knowledge transfer, while providing critical feedback to product and internal teams to drive continuous improvement and customer success.

  • Provide high‑quality pre-sales technical support, including solution demonstrations, presentations, pilots, and customer workshops.
  • Serve as a subject‑matter expert for SciY solutions, translating customer scientific and business requirements into appropriate technical solutions.
  • Support Sales and Business Development opportunities through discovery, qualification, RFIs/RFPs, and technical evaluations, ensuring timely and effective engagement.
  • Design and deliver tailored demonstrations and proofs‑of‑concept that clearly articulate the value of SciY solutions across relevant workflows.
  • Work with Sales and Professional Services teams to specify and build custom workflows for customers.
  • Provide project management for bespoke solutions, in cooperation with Product Management, Professional Services, and Development Teams.
  • Collaborate closely with Sales, Business Development, Product Management, Development, Innovations, and Partner teams to align customer needs with product capabilities and roadmap direction.
  • Collect, document, and communicate customer feedback, use cases, and competitive insights to support continuous product and process improvement.
  • Provide technical assistance to Support and QC teams as necessary to create and maintain reusable demo assets, best‑practice workflows, and technical documentation to support scalable presales execution.
  • Contribute to customer onboarding, training, and early adoption activities to support successful implementation and customer satisfaction.
  • Maintain up‑to‑date technical knowledge of SciY products, integrations, and relevant scientific domains through continuous learning.
  • Provide feedback to Marketing team on messaging, in the context of market segment(s) and locale.
  • Represent SciY professionally in customer interactions, internal forums, and external events, reinforcing SciY’s position as a trusted scientific partner.
Qualifications:
  • Requires PhD plus 3 years recent work experience or a Master Degree plus 5 years recent work experience, or Bachelor Degree plus 8 years recent work experience in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Computer Science or a scientific discipline, with significant work experience in spectroscopy.
  • Minimum of 3 recent years of hands-on laboratory work experience (research, development, QC) in a customer-facing position within a chemistry (or related scientific discipline) industry or academia work environment. 
  • Advanced hands-on work experience with ELN, LIMS, SDMS.
  • Advanced hands-on work experience involving NMR and/or MS laboratory analysis techniques; Major processing/analysis software for NMR and/or MS, such as Mnova, TopSpin, Delta, and/or Spectrus; Basic SAP Module; MS Office. 
  • Proven ability to write scripts in JavaScript, Python, or similar languages with advanced knowledge of Mnova scripting.
  • Advanced Data Analysis advanced work experience through use of software packages and/or languages. 
  • Basic Data Visualization experience using software such as Tableau, Spotfire, or Power BI.
  • Advanced scientific writing experience for creation of manuals, posters, publications, and SoPs.
  • Demonstrated ability to successfully manage complex projects with demanding deadlines and key stakeholders.
  • Proven ability to perform in a dynamic, fast-paced environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a complex global environment with diverse teams and stakeholders and build positive business relationships with all parties.
  • Excellent verbal, written, computer, technical, proposal communication and presentation skills, including fluent oral and written English language proficiency.
  • Operates with a high standard of ethics, integrity, and professionalism.
  • Ability to satisfactorily complete position training and compliance requirements.
  • Ability to maintain current knowledge of company tools, products, and applications.
  • Reliable transportation and valid Driver License in good standing, issued by resident state required.
  • U.S. Citizenship or U.S. Permanent Resident status required.
  • Maintain a valid passport with flexibility for domestic and international travel.
  • May be required to pass security clearance investigation.

 

At Bruker, the base salary is part of our total compensation. The estimated base salary range for this full-time position is between $101,700 and $144,,000 and provides an opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base salary for the role will depend on several job-related factors, including, but not limited to, education, training, experience, the geographic location of the successful candidate, skills, competencies, job-related knowledge, and travel requirements for this position.
