Overview

Our client is looking for a talented Senior Applied AI Engineer. This role is built for a hands-on builder who moves from problem to working solution in days, not months. The Senior Applied AI Engineer will rapidly prototype and deploy AI-powered workflows, validate vendor capabilities, and build lightweight data pipelines - all while working with real-world, imperfect enterprise data. This is a high-impact, delivery-focused position for someone who prioritizes usable outputs over perfect models.

Responsibilities

• Rapidly prototype and deploy AI use cases that deliver measurable value within weeks
• Build LLM-powered workflows including document extraction, copilots, and process automation
• Validate and pressure-test vendor solutions, providing an internal benchmark for quality and capability
• Design and build lightweight data pipelines to support active use cases
• Work across messy, real-world enterprise data to deliver reliable, production-ready outputs
• Accelerate time-to-value for priority initiatives such as RFQ processing, procurement, and beyond
• Reduce reliance on external vendors for iteration and refinement cycles

Qualifications

• Proven ability to go from problem identification to working solution in 1-2 weeks
• Strong proficiency in Python, APIs, and integration with enterprise data sources
• Hands-on experience building LLM-powered workflows in production environments (document extraction, copilots, automation)
• Demonstrated success working with imperfect, real-world enterprise data at scale
• Pragmatic engineering mindset - focused on delivering usable outputs, not theoretical perfection
• Self-starter with a problem-solving orientation and the ability to contribute immediately
• Senior-level experience required; candidates must show clear evidence of systems they have built that are in production today

Compensation

$75-80/hr
