About the Role
The Senior Architect will play a pivotal role in designing and implementing enterprise-grade solutions that support modernization, resiliency, and innovation across business-critical platforms. This role sits within the COO Technology organization and supports strategic initiatives in areas such as mainframe cash management, print and mail, as well as operation case management and utility.
Key Responsibilities
• Drive legacy modernization efforts, including re-platforming existing Java workloads, decomposing monolithic components into services and APIs, and modernizing integration patterns. • Evaluate and design opportunities to apply AI and machine learning (AIGenAI) for code modernization, document processing, operational intelligence, or developer productivity within banking operations platforms. • Promote and embed modern engineering practices, such as API-first design, event-driven patterns, CICD automation, DevSecOps integration, and containerized deployments, OpenShift, and Kubernetes. • Maintain awareness of emerging trends in Java ecosystems, cloud services, Azure, GCP, and AI tooling relevant to operational platforms and recommend adoption where appropriate. • Collaborate with Principal and Lead Architects to define and evolve target state architectures across multiple domains. • Design scalable, secure, and resilient systems that align with enterprise standards and business objectives. • Provide solutions and required artifacts for compliance and audit for architecture JIRA tickets. • Provide architectural assessments and contribute to solution design for various initiatives. • Support compliance risk management and governance processes in architectural decisions.
Required Qualifications
3 years of experience in systems or enterprise architecture or equivalent through work training or education.
Certifications
Experience in architecture tools and practice, such as ArchiMate, BizzDesign, Sparx Enterprise Architect, draw.io, UML, and The Open Group Architecture Framework (TOGAF).
Strong understanding of cloud platforms, Azure, GCP, and container technologies, such as OpenShift.
Experience with BPM, APIs, case management, decision support engines, or AI-driven architecture is a plus.
