Title: Senior Assembly Engineer
Location: Holly Springs, NC
Duration: 12 months
Rate: $55-60/Hr on W2
Background: We are seeking a Senior Assembly & Packaging Engineer to serve as the technical voice of site operations (User Team). You will partner with Project Delivery (CAPEX) across the full equipment lifecycle-from OEM selection through operational readiness, focusing on high-speed autoinjector and pen assembly, labeling, and secondary packaging.
Key Responsibilities OEM Selection & Design: Provide input on OEM selection, URS, Design reviews, Risk assessments, etc, for automated autoinjector and pen assembly and packaging.
Commissioning & Validation: Represent User Team on definition of qualification/validation strategies, participate on OEM FATs and on-site installation, with Quality and Validation.
Operational Readiness: Provide input on or lead operational readiness activities, including site SOPs, maintenance plans; risk management.
Cross-Functional Leadership: Serve as the technical bridge between CAPEX, MSAT, Quality, EHS, and Supply Chain; train and mentor incoming operating and maintenance teams.
Qualifications Education: B.S., M.S., or Ph.D. in Mechanical, Automation, Mechatronics, Biomedical Engineering, or related field.
Experience: 5+ years in pharma/combo product manufacturing with direct expertise in automated autoinjector or multi-dose pen assembly, labeling and packaging.
Project & OEM Execution: Proven track record leading projects involving multiple OEM vendors from design through implementation, qualification, and supporting technology transfer activities under strict timelines.
Work Environment
Up to 20% domestic and international travel (vendor FATs, technical benchmarking).
Construction environment
High-speed automated equipment environment.
