Job Description
The Senior Assistant/Associate Director of Visitor Experience serves as the senior staff member responsible for planning, implementing, and administering daily internal operations and initiatives designed to increase and enhance the visitor experience and campus visit program at Virginia Tech.
The Senior Assistant/Associate Director of Visitor Experience provides leadership for visitor programs and services, ensuring a welcoming, engaging, and seamless experience for prospective students, families, and guests. The Senior Assistant/Associate Director will play a key role in refreshing and enhancing visit programs, recruiting and developing a high-performing team of professional and student staff, including tour guides, and strengthening the connection between campus visits and the broader enrollment experience. The position offers the opportunity to lead operational improvements, elevate the campus tour program, and help position the Visitor and Undergraduate Admissions Center as a strategic and impactful component of the university''s enrollment efforts.
The Senior Assistant/Associate Director is responsible for overseeing the Visitor and Undergraduate Admission Center front desk operations, supervising professional and student staff, managing campus tour and visit programs, and implementing strategies that continuously innovate and enhance the visitor experience. Through effective leadership, operational planning, staff development, and collaboration with campus partners, the Senior Assistant/Associate Director helps ensure that every campus visit reflects the university''s commitment to service excellence and student success.
This is an on-site position located in Blacksburg, VA. Evening and weekend work will be required, especially during peak seasons (fall and spring visit seasons).
