Role Overview

New York Life's Artificial Intelligence and Data organization is seeking a Business Operations and Strategy Senior Associate to support strategic planning, operational excellence, and cross-functional execution across the organization. This role will partner closely with AI&D leadership, product managers, portfolio leads, and enterprise stakeholders to drive strategic initiatives, enhance operating cadence, and support enterprise-wide governance and planning activities.

The ideal candidate is a structured thinker and effective communicator who thrives in fast-paced and evolving environments. This individual will be responsible for translating complex business and technical concepts into clear executive-level narratives, driving strategic alignment across teams, and enabling operational effectiveness through strong project and stakeholder management capabilities.

What You'll Do:

  • Drive cross-functional strategic initiatives from problem definition through execution, including tracking outcomes, measuring impact, and supporting organizational priorities across AI&D

  • Develop executive-ready presentations and communications for senior leadership, including Board of Directors and C-suite audiences, by translating complex technical and operational topics into clear and compelling narratives

  • Support organizational operating cadence activities across workforce planning, procurement, finance, governance forums, and agile delivery management while identifying opportunities to improve processes, tools, and ways of working

  • Partner with leadership and portfolio teams to support annual and multi-year strategic planning efforts, including prioritization, roadmap alignment, and OKR development and tracking

  • Serve as a liaison across enterprise functions including Finance, Procurement, Legal, Risk, Compliance, and Sourcing to facilitate operational processes and enable effective cross-functional collaboration

What You'll Bring:

Required Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, Technology, or a related field

  • 4+ years of experience in management consulting, business operations, technology strategy, corporate strategy, or a related function

  • Strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills with the ability to evaluate complex business and technology challenges

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including experience developing executive-level and C-suite presentations

  • Strong project and process management capabilities with the ability to manage multiple priorities and stakeholders simultaneously

  • Demonstrated collaboration and relationship-building skills with the ability to influence and earn trust across teams and senior leadership

Preferred Skills

  • Experience supporting technology, data, or AI-focused organizations or initiatives

  • Understanding of strategic planning, OKR management, financial analysis, and operational governance processes

  • Experience within the insurance or financial services industry

  • Self-starter mindset with strong ownership, executive presence, and a passion for driving results

Pay Transparency

Salary Range: $100,000-$143,000

Overtime eligible: Exempt

Discretionary bonus eligible: Yes

Sales bonus eligible: No

Actual base salary will be determined based on several factors but not limited to individual's experience, skills, qualifications, and job location. Additionally, employees are eligible for an annual discretionary bonus. In addition to base salary, employees may also be eligible to participate in an incentive program.
