Senior Associate, Corporate Strategy and Development

Summary

The Senior Associate will work in the Venture Global Corporate Strategy and Development Team, reporting to a Senior Vice President. The Corporate Strategy and Development Team, which resides within the Treasury division and reports to the Treasurer, is responsible for structuring and executing all capital markets activity, as well as evaluating and advising on all corporate development - expansions, acquisitions and other strategic initiatives. The Senior Associate and Associate will be responsible for developing and maintaining financial models, producing capital market deliverables, working with various bank, rating agency and legal counterparties, evaluating strategic transactions and coordinating across the Venture Global platform, most often with Financial Planning and Analysis. The Corporate Strategy and Development team continuously works with the CFO, Treasurer and CEO.

General Description Duties & Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain financial models, often incorporating integrated financial statements, discounted cash flow analysis, project financings and a wide array of financial structures. The modeling will support the Corporate Strategy and Development Team's Capital Markets activity and strategic investment decisions
• Support execution of financings, investments and other transactions, utilizing both corporate finance and project finance, to further the development of Venture Global's core business
• Draft marketing materials including Rating Agency Presentations, Lender Presentations, Teasers, Offering Memorandums and notices to bondholders and shareholders
• Drive forward analysis to support senior management decisions, and draft and maintain internal projections of revenue, liquidity and various operating considerations
• Support Investor Relations with technical knowledge
• Work closely with Financial Planning and Analysis, Core Treasury, Accounting, Legal and the Commercial teams

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree required, ideally with a major/concentration in a technical discipline (math, economics, finance) or a science (physics, chemistry, engineering). MBA or other advanced degree preferred for Senior Associate role
• Associate: 1-3 years of experience in Investment Banking, M&A, or Corporate Development
• Senior Associate: 3-5 years of experience in Investment Banking, M&A, or Corporate Development

Knowledge and Skills

• Knowledge - strong background in finance with robust transaction execution (deal flow) experience, ideally at a bulge bracket investment bank. Deep understanding of corporate and project finance disciplines, leverage finance structures and the capital markets broadly. A good candidate will have a sound understanding of the global energy markets, with an emphasis on LNG, and general knowledge of the midstream (gathering and processing, pipeline) industries. Knowledge of related industries (power, industrials) is advantageous
• Skills - strong modeling skills, especially with Excel. A working understanding of VBA or other coding background ideal. Strong experience with Word and Powerpoint required. Time management, organizational, presentation and communication skills are essential. A strong sense of ownership, commitment to the team and an enthusiastic and positive approach are also essential
