What You Will Be Doing

You will be part of a team helping to resolve complex matters that pose a threat or disruption to normal operations for our clients. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Performing directed research
  • Conducting financial valuation and/or damages analysis
  • Providing litigation support
  • Helping our clients and their counsel understand and resolve the financial impacts around their legal matters relating to complex accounting, valuation, and financial issues
  • Developing presentations and reports to effectively communicate the analyses, findings, and insights to the client and/or Court
  • Relying on your initiative and flexibility to deliver results in an agile and collaborative team environment
  • Building strong relationships with clients, legal counsel, and expert witnesses

Responsibilities

Some of the main responsibilities of this role include:

  • Working on high-profile and complex matters that incorporate valuation concepts and tools, including conducting data analysis and valuation modeling
  • Working closely with Managing Directors, Senior Directors, Directors, and Managers to identify and provide any needed project support
  • Providing support on complex accounting and valuation-related matters and disputes, including example project types such as investigations, forensic accounting, damage calculations, solvency analysis, settlement models, post-acquisition disputes, and general litigation support
  • Conducting research, synthesizing information, and developing reports for high-profile clients
  • Assisting with researching technical and industry-specific issues
  • Ability to receive and act upon constructive feedback
  • Developing and suggesting solutions to complex problems by thinking outside the box
  • Clearly presenting findings to internal team members
  • Creating a learning environment by providing constructive 360-degree feedback

Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • 3 to 6 years of experience in valuation, public audit, and/or a forensic and dispute consulting practice
  • Valuation certification, such as ASAM, RICS, or equivalent certification
  • CPA designation preferred
  • Knowledge of financial statement entry and analysis, KPI development and benchmarking, comparative analysis, and financial forecasting development
  • Experience working on various types of complex valuation matters, including restructuring
  • Applied understanding of valuation approaches, including market guideline, transaction, income, DCF, capitalization of earnings, cost-asset, and premise of value
  • Experience in performing financial statement analysis, including the use of trend, common-size, and ratio analyses
  • Experience in three-statement financial modeling, scenario stress modeling, and creating models from scratch
  • Ability to create discount rates using BUM, CAPM, and WACC
  • Practical working knowledge of control premia, minority interest discounts, as well as NAV and DLOM development via OPM frameworks
  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel for purposes of extensive data analysis and valuation modeling
  • Prior practical or analytical experience in the real estate industry or exposure to real estate appraisal is considered an asset
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word and PowerPoint
  • Proficient in use of market intelligence platforms, such as S&P Capital IQ, Bloomberg, etc.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Effective interpersonal and team management skills
  • High level of attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability and willingness to maintain a flexible work schedule to meet client needs
  • Hybrid - Ability to work in a flexible hybrid work arrangement, part-time in physical office and remote
  • Flexibility to travel
  • Demonstrated management skills, including estimating time required for various project tasks and workstreams and delivering results
  • Experience in supervising, developing, and motivating staff by providing them with leadership, mentoring, performance feedback, and career guidance
  • Ability to build internal and external relationships and assist with research for business development

Benefits

A&M offers a competitive salary range of $90,000 - $110,000 annually, dependent on several variables, including but not limited to education, experience, skills, and geography. In addition, A&M offers a discretionary bonus program, which is based on a number of factors, including individual and firm performance.
