Wayfair is seeking a passionate storyteller to join its Corporate Communications team. This role is an exciting opportunity to tell the compelling, behind-the-scenes stories of this multi-billion dollar retail company. This person will support earned media opportunities, develop and create content for media, social media and owned channels, and will work cross-functionally with key stakeholders.
A successful candidate will be an energetic and highly-motivated communications professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment and can balance concurrent projects under tight deadlines. Candidates should be inherently curious and self-driven with a passion for corporate storytelling and an ability to bring the people, teams and initiatives that make a company tick to life. The role will report into the Manager of External Communications and is based at the company’s headquarters in Boston.
What You’ll Do:
Assist in creating press briefing materials and staff media interviews with Wayfair spokespeople
Assist in managing media inbounds and maintain relationships with key reporters
Manage media lists within media database software
Research, write, and develop new and existing stories for corporate blogs
Monitor media for coverage on key campaigns and crises
Own and maintain key corporate social media channels including Linkedin and Instagram
Develop and maintain editorial calendar to ensure consistent social media and editorial content
Work cross-functionally to coordinate campaigns and storytelling moments
Create digital graphics for social media, digital signage and blog posts
Analyze and report on data across corporate channels including social media, corporate blog and website
What You’ll Need:
Bachelor’s degree with minimum 3-5 years of experience in corporate communications or public relations, either in-house or at an agency.
Positive, people-oriented, and energetic attitude
Experience with analytics and measurement for both social and traditional media
Working knowledge of a CMS platform
Working knowledge design in the Adobe Creative Suite and Canva
Working knowledge of GenAI platforms like Gemini and ChatGPT
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
Strong attention to detail; carefully and consistently proofs own work
Superior organizational skills and proven ability to quickly learn and understand complex topics
Proven ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously, with an eye for prioritization
Strong quantitative skills, comfortable navigating a data-driven business environment
Critical thinker who is flexible and open to change and new information
Interest and experience in developing content and managing social media and corporate channels
