# Job Description: Senior Associate - Global Financial Controls Center of Excellence

The GFC Senior Associate role provides a unique opportunity to partner with Internal Audit to expand use of AI in auditing. This role also delivers significant value by assessing key risks and controls supporting Fidelitys financial controls environment through integrated audits. This is a high-visibility role with frequent interactions with senior leaders, including Business Unit Controllers, SVPs, VPs, Function Heads, process control owners, and other risk groups.

## Expertise and Skills You Bring

  • Play a pivotal role in implementing AI to support integrated reviews through a partnership with Internal Audit.
  • Be a key member in GFCs assurance and advisory integrated reviews through your keen understanding of financially significant processes and controls considerations.
  • Lead engaging walkthroughs, thoroughly evaluate the control environment, and partner with management on remediation efforts.
  • Effectively manage relationships and partnerships with internal stakeholders.

### Education

  • Bachelors Degree or above in relevant fields, e.g., Computer Science, Data Science, Information Technology, Accounting, Finance.

### Experience

  • Three plus years of relevant progressive experience with supporting integrated financial audits and/or developing Automation or Data Science capabilities in a risk and controls environment.

### Technical Expertise (Data Science & Automation) Expertise and development experience with at least three of the following:

  • Python
  • Relational Databases
  • NoSQL Databases (including graph databases)
  • ML/AI algorithms
  • Understanding of Cloud technologies
  • Understanding of Docker, DevOps tools (Jenkins, Core, Terraform, Kubernetes, etc.)
  • Understanding of REST APIs

### Technical Expertise (Web Development) Expertise and development experience with at least three of the following:

  • JavaScript
  • TypeScript
  • React
  • NextJS
  • HTML
  • CSS

### Certifications

  • Professional certification: CISA and/or CPA desired.
  • Other relevant certifications: CISSP and CIA.

### Additional Experience

  • Blend of Public Accounting, SOX, IT SOX, and Internal Audit experience highly desirable.
  • Direct experience with general accounting concepts, including financial statement risks and controls.
  • Exposure to IT Application Controls report testing and/or IT General Controls.
  • Familiarity with system implementations, alternative investments, and/or digital assets.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills to present information to team members and clients.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities and workload timely and with the appropriate level of quality.
  • Learning agility to quickly understand and connect key concepts.
  • Exposure partnering with IT Audit teams in performing integrated audits as a financial controls SME.

## The Team The Global Financial Controls Center of Excellence (GFC-CoE) is an enterprise-wide function that supports the Finance strategic objective of ensuring a strong financial controls environment. The function provides reasonable assurance over the key processes that impact Fidelitys financial statements.

Specifically, the GFC-CoE evaluates financial controls through integrated reviews of key business units, including:

  • Institutional Wealth
  • Retail Brokerage
  • Fund and Brokerage Operations
  • Technology
  • Asset Management
  • Corporate Services
  • Fidelity Insurance Group
  • International sites
  • Advisory reviews over strategic initiatives.

## Compensation and Benefits The base salary range for this position is $67,000 - $158,000 USD per year. Placement in the range will vary based on job responsibilities and scope, geographic location, candidates relevant experience, and other factors.

Base salary is only part of the total compensation package. Depending on the position and eligibility requirements, the offer package may also include bonus or other variable compensation.
