Senior Associate - Litigation

Own Your Caseload, No Hand-Holding.

The Opportunity

A well-established civil litigation firm in Sherman Oaks/LA has hit a good problem: caseload volume has outgrown current staffing. This means you'll stepping into an active caseload from day one. If you've spent years proving you don't need to be managed, this is the seat where that finally pays off.

What You'll Own

• Own a complex civil litigation caseload independently
• Handle matters across real estate disputes, business litigation, contract disputes, and related civil practice areas
• Serve as lead counsel in depositions, hearings, and trial
• Mentor and develop junior associates
• Build and cultivate lasting client relationships
• Contribute to business development and grow your own practice within the firm

What We Need From You

Must-haves:

• 7+ years of civil litigation experience
• A track record of running your own caseload with genuine independence 
• Trial, deposition, and hearing experience as lead counsel

Nice-to-haves (trainable, not dealbreakers):

• Specific depth in real estate, business, or contract disputes (strong civil litigators from adjacent areas are worth a conversation)
• Prior experience formally mentoring junior attorneys
• Existing client-development instincts. If you've never had the chance to build a book of business but want to, that's a fit, not a gap

What You'll Get

• $150,000–$210,000, based on experience
• Hybrid schedule: in-office and remote flexibility, based in Sherman Oaks/LA
• Real autonomy over your caseload and how you run it, backed by firm infrastructure rather than left to sink or swim
• A path to grow your own practice inside the firm, not just service someone else's
