The Position
The City of Lake Oswego is seeking a Professional Engineer to join the Public Works-Engineering team. The primary role of this position will be to manage capital projects associated with public facilities, such as a new fire station and library. This will involve leading the design and construction phases of a fire station, and leading the effort from site selection to eventual design and construction of a future library and community center facility. This position will require collaboration with various other departments and external stakeholders to ensure engagement and delivery of very high-visibility facilities that are a priority for the City.
Additionally, this position could also be tasked with implementing improvements to the City's transportation, water, wastewater, and stormwater systems. Secondary roles of this position include serving as the City's technical subject matter expert for civil engineering issues, plans reviewer for capital and development projects, and engineering liaison with the City's operations crews. The selected candidate will fill one of the following positions based on qualifications:
Senior Associate Engineer - $99,261 - $126,698/annually
Required to be a Registered Professional Engineer in Oregon.
Master's degree in Civil Engineering or related field, and eight years related experience; or, an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job.

This position is required to be a Professional Engineer in the state of Oregon. Some positions in this classification may require the ability to possess and maintain a valid driver's license and ability to meet the City's driving standards. Duties will occasionally involve working in adverse or inclement weather conditions; exposure to high noise levels; dealing with distraught or difficult individuals; attending meetings or activities outside normal working hours; occasional response to emergency conditions during off-hours; occasional operation of a motor vehicle on public roads.

Holidays
The following holidays are observed throughout the year:

Vacation

Sick Leave
At hire, 48 hours of sick time will be available. After a full 6 months of employment, sick hours will then be accrued a monthly basis at a rate of 8 hours per month.
Part-time employee sick hours are pro-rated based on hours worked. Sick leave may be accumulated to 1080 hours. Anything over 1080 hours will be transferred to employees VEBA account.
