Summary:
Biomedicine Design’s Endogenous Antibody Discovery Group is seeking a Senior Associate Scientist (contingent worker) to support antibody discovery projects focused on B cell-based workflows. This role contributes to therapeutic antibody discovery campaigns through rodent immunization, serum titer screening, B cell sorting by flow cytometry, immune library generation, and hybridoma-based methods. The successful candidate will execute established laboratory workflows that support immunization-based discovery, including rodent selection, immunization strategies (protein, cell-based, and genetic), serum response evaluation by ELISA, flow cytometry, VH/VL molecular cloning, immune library generation and quality control, electrofusion, and hybridoma culture and screening. This position also supports the evaluation and implementation of technologies that enhance immunization and flow cytometry-based antibody discovery workflows in collaboration with other team members.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide laboratory support for therapeutic antibody discovery campaigns using flow cytometry, immune library generation, and hybridoma-based methods.
  • Execute established workflows to support rodent immunization studies, serum titer screening, B cell sorting, molecular cloning, and related sample processing activities.
  • Support antibody discovery workflows involving rodent selection and immunization strategies, including protein, cell-based, and genetic immunization approaches.
  • Perform serum response evaluation using ELISA and support flow cytometry-based applications.
  • Conduct VH/VL molecular cloning, immune library generation, quality control activities, electrofusion, and hybridoma culture and screening processes.
  • Maintain reagent inventories, prepare laboratory materials, and ensure operational readiness for discovery activities.
  • Accurately document experimental procedures, observations, and results in laboratory records and internal data systems.
  • Organize experimental data and communicate findings, campaign progress, and outcomes to project teams.
  • Participate in the evaluation and implementation of technologies that improve immunization and flow cytometry-based antibody discovery workflows.
  • Collaborate effectively with team members to support project objectives and laboratory operations.

Requirements:

Education Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Biology, Immunology, Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, or a related scientific discipline.

Experience Requirements:
  • Minimum of 2 years of full-time laboratory experience in an academic or industry setting.
  • Hands-on experience supporting antibody discovery workflows, including flow cytometry, B cell-based methods, or hybridoma-based screening.
  • Experience with laboratory documentation, data organization, and communication of experimental results.

Required Skills:
  • Hands-on experience supporting antibody discovery workflows.
  • Knowledge of flow cytometry and B cell-based methods.
  • Experience with hybridoma-based screening workflows.
  • Working knowledge of molecular biology techniques, including PCR and cloning.
  • Experience with immune library generation or related sample preparation workflows.
  • Ability to accurately document laboratory procedures, experimental results, and observations.
  • Strong data organization and communication skills.
  • Strong laboratory organization skills, including reagent handling and inventory management.
  • Ability to maintain laboratory materials and support operational readiness for experimental workflows.

Preferred Skills:
  • Experience with flow cytometry-based analysis or cell sorting.
  • Experience with laboratory automation or high-throughput workflows.
  • Experience working with rodents, particularly mice, in a research setting.
  • Experience with hybridoma generation, culture, or screening workflows.
