Our client, a Mass Media and Entertainment company, is looking for a Senior Associate, Technology and Strategic Sourcing for their New York, NY/ Troy, NY/ Remote/ Hybrid location.
 
Responsibilities:

  • This Senior Associate role serves as a strategic partner in client's technology sourcing and vendor management function, leading complex procurement initiatives, contract negotiations, and vendor relationships that drive business value and support technology objectives.
  • The position combines commercial acumen, stakeholder management, and analytical expertise to evaluate technology solutions, negotiate agreements, manage supplier performance, and guide cross-functional teams through the full lifecycle of technology acquisitions while ensuring compliance with procurement policies and industry best practices.
  • Senior Associate will provide in-depth support to the processing and operations functions, including:
  • Administering the request for proposal/quote/information (RFX) process and the competitive bid process for technology vendor selection, where applicable.
  • Identifying and assessing technology vendors/products from a strategic perspective, to ensure that vendor/product selection is aligned with client Technology objectives and strategies.
  • Executing transactional procurement activities (e.g. order forms, SOWs, renewals)
  • Ensuring compliance with client sourcing & procurement policies.
  • Senior Associate will act as a client business representative for technology vendors, including:
  • Managing client's business relationships with vendors, focusing on business issues, escalations and other nonoperational matters.
  • Planning and managing vendor business reviews; analyzing and rating key vendors.
  • Preparing and delivering briefing documents, status reporting, and other data/reports on key technology relationships for senior management.
  • Senior Associate will handle business and technical negotiations for technology transactions, including:
  • Gathering requirements from relevant stakeholders.
  • Reading, interpreting, understanding and communicating technology contract terms. Partner with legal to understand legal concepts and challenges, and problem solve to overcome challenges.
  • Working with Finance and Business Stakeholders to identify budgetary constraints and develop desired set of commercial terms.
  • Negotiating pricing and other commercial terms, as well as Statements of Work, Service Level Agreements and other technical/operational documents.
  • Owning overall responsibility for delivering finalized agreements in accordance with applicable timing requirements and other relevant factors.
  • Senior Associate will help develop vendor selection, negotiation and relationship management processes and policies.
  • Act as liaison for Technology Business Unit Stakeholders across Legal, Finance, Security, and Procurement and other client support departments throughout contract negotiation and relationship management process.
  • Work with teams to ensure that technology acquisition complies with client sourcing and procurement policies regarding competitive bidding.
  • Maintain knowledge of sourcing, contract negotiation and relationship management best practices and industry trends
  • Exercises impartial judgment in selecting methods and evaluation criteria for obtaining results or evaluating supplier responses to RFXs.
  • Works on complex issues where analysis of situations or data requires an indepth evaluation of variable factors.
  • Develops financial models, including present mode of operation (PMO) and future mode of operation (FMO), to determine business case for deal or comparison between multiple vendors
  • Advise and consult with clients on market trends, technology, new products, and training.
  • Maintain accurate contracting data, vendor records, and transaction information.
  • Management has the right to add or change duties and job requirements at any time.
 
Requirements:
  • Effective communication skills
  • 3+ years; Efficiency communicating with all levels of business (from external partners to executive stakeholders). Ability to translate requirements and remain timely in responses.
  • Experience with Financial Analysis
  • 3+ years; Ability to take deal structure components to be able to compare, analyze, and propose a recommendation.
  • Organization skills and attention to detail
  • 3+ years; Experience reviewing contracts, tracking renewal timelines, keeping up with open items and managing deadlines, knowing when and how to prioritize action items.
  • Advanced degree JD/MBA a plus.
  • Keen analytic, organizational, and problemsolving skills that enable sound decision making.
  • Ability to identify and deconstruct issues to overcome obstacles.
  • Ability to own and driving deals to execution and will need to build collaborative relationships in multifunctional teams and have a problem solving mindset to do so.
  • Exceptional negotiation skills and the ability to coach and develop others to do the same
  • Outstanding interpersonal, written, verbal and presentation communication skills
  • Highly organized, with strong attention to detail, clarity, accuracy and conciseness
  • Quick learner thriving in a fast paced, cross functional environment; able to prioritize tasks and projects accordingly.
  • Ability to work nontraditional hours, and international time zones, as needed.
  • Team player and selfstarter with interpersonal and solutionoriented attitude and an ability to effectively operate with high energy and flexibility in a fast paced, constantly evolving team environment.
  • Advanced proficiency in MS Word, MS Excel, and MS PowerPoint.
  • BS/BA degree (business/technology) required
