Senior Automation Engineer

Job Title: Sr Automation Engineer
Location: Greater Phoenix, AZ (Onsite)
Duration: 6-month contract

Job Summary:
The Sr Automation Engineer is responsible for supporting a highly automated manufacturing environment with a focus on controls, robotics, and production equipment reliability. This role involves hands-on troubleshooting of automation systems, robotic equipment recovery and reconfiguration, machine vision and camera-integrated processes, and resolving equipment-related issues impacting manufacturing operations.

Responsibilities:
Troubleshoot automation and controls systems in a highly automated manufacturing environment
Program, recover, troubleshoot, and support 6-axis and industrial robotic systems
Troubleshoot Allen Bradley PLCs and Ladder Logic programming
Support robotic equipment recovery, reconfiguration, and system reliability
Support machine vision and camera-integrated manufacturing processes
Perform robotic component repair and replacement as needed
Assist with robotic system optimization and equipment improvements
Support robot programming modifications and automation system improvements
Troubleshoot and resolve equipment-related issues impacting production operations
Work directly with manufacturing equipment to maintain process continuity
Provide occasional on-call or weekend support based on business needs

Required Qualifications:
Strong controls engineering experience with hands-on troubleshooting in automated manufacturing environments
Robotics experience including robot programming, recovery, troubleshooting, and support of 6-axis and industrial robotic systems
Experience with Allen Bradley PLCs and Ladder Logic programming/troubleshooting

Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with machine vision and camera integration
Experience with robotic component repair, replacement, and system optimization
Availability for occasional on-call or weekend support
Hands-on experience supporting automated manufacturing equipment

Salary:
The hourly rate for this position is $50-55/hr on W2 based on experience.
