In this role you'll drive operational excellence at scale, build and deepen strategic customer partnerships, and develop a high-performing leadership team. We're looking for a seasoned operator who sets the tone from the front - someone who holds the organization accountable, communicates with clarity, and has a track record of delivering best-in-class results in high-stakes environments.

What we do

The Senior General Manager is part of the site operations team, which is part of the Customer Operations organization. The Customer Operations organization is responsible for leading the day-to-day operations of Symbotic's robotic material handling system. The Customer Operations organization drives operational excellence by engaging and partnering with our onsite customers to drive best-in-class quality, safety, and system performance.

What you'll do

  • Oversee, lead and optimize day-to-day automation operations and production management at the customer site.

  • Lead and conduct performance assessments, analyze root causes, and implement corrective actions.

  • Own the site operating plan and customer financial commitments and lead the team in executing against them.

  • Monitor, report, and drive operational performance to customers and internal cross-functional stakeholders, translating data into strategic decisions.

  • Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction by maintaining quality standards and resolving issues promptly.

  • Lead, mentor, and develop the site operations team by fostering a collaborative environment that encourages growth and continuous improvement.

  • Champion a culture of safety, quality, and operational discipline across the site.

  • Ensure full compliance with safety regulations, LOTO protocols, and company policies.

  • Drive and support team development through coaching, training, and hands-on leadership.

What you'll need

  • Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, Manufacturing, Industrial Automation, or Business Administration - or equivalent work experience; Master's degree preferred.

  • Minimum of 10 years of functional management and direct supervisory experience.

  • Minimum of 7 years of senior leadership within a large-scale operations environment.

  • Demonstrated experience managing complex customer relationships at an executive level.

  • Experience in logistics, material management, inventory control, or manufacturing operations.

  • Deep understanding of operational metrics, P&L management, and performance optimization.

  • Proven ability to lead organizational change and scale process improvements across a site or region.

  • Budget ownership and financial management experience at a site or multi-site level.

  • Flexibility for overtime and travel as needed.

Our Environment

  • Travel up to 10-15% ongoing; up to 60% during onboarding and training. Valid driver's license required.

  • Employees are responsible for managing their own expenses via personal credit card, reimbursed bi-weekly.
