    What You'll Do:

As a Senior Automated Technician at CBRE, you will play a critical role supporting the client's Maintenance and Production Support team by diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining advanced automated material handling systems. This position combines mechanical repair, controls knowledge, preventative maintenance, mechatronics, and other skill sets needed in an automated production environment. You will work with Automated Storage and Retrieval System (ASRS) crane racking systems, self-guided material handlers, Kuka Autonomous Mobile Robots (AMRs), Gideon self-guided forklifts, JBT, Cognex automated camera/dock scanners, and related conveyor and pneumatic equipment. Beyond keeping equipment reliable, you will help mentor other technicians and contribute to continuous improvement of the maintenance team.

What your day-to-day will look like:

    • Promote a safe working environment by strictly following all safety procedures, using proper PPE, and adhering to CBRE and site-specific safety standards for automated equipment.
    • Perform preventative and predictive maintenance on ASRS crane systems, AMRs, autonomous forklifts, vision/scanning systems, conveyors, and related controls, documenting all work thoroughly in Maximo.
    • Troubleshoot complex electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and controls issues on material handling SGV's and ASRS systems, including motors, drives, sensors, photo-eyes, relays, robotic components, and Cognex vision systems.
    • Install, commission, maintain, and repair automated systems by reading and interpreting blueprints, electrical schematics, technical diagrams, and OEM manuals to diagnose and resolve failures quickly.
    • Track and manage maintenance inventory while maintaining positive working relationships across Operations and facility departments.
    • Support continuous improvement efforts and mentor other technicians.
    • Work flexible schedules as required to support operational needs.

    What You'll Need:

    • Technical degree or equivalent certification in Mechatronics, Industrial Automation, Robotics, or a closely related discipline.
    • Demonstrated experience supporting high-volume automated distribution environments, with direct exposure to ASRS crane systems, autonomous mobile robots, or self-guided industrial vehicles.
    • Strong working knowledge of diagnosing and resolving issues on complex automated equipment using electrical schematics, mechanical drawings, and OEM technical documentation.
    • Familiarity with industrial controls, sensor networks, and vision systems (Cognex or comparable platforms a plus).
    • Comfortable working within a CMMS (Maximo) environment to manage work orders, parts, and maintenance history.
    • Prior hands-on involvement with robotic platforms or electromechanical systems in manufacturing settings.
    • Ability to guide less experienced technicians and collaborate effectively with operations teams in a fast-moving facility.

    Physical Demands:

Work takes place in an industrial manufacturing facility and requires consistent physical capability throughout the shift. Technicians can expect extended periods of standing and walking on concrete flooring, plus regular bending, kneeling, crouching, overhead reaching, and body rotation. The position involves lifting and carrying tools or parts that typically weigh about 20 pounds (with occasional loads up to roughly 40 pounds), moving carts or wheeled equipment that may exceed 100 pounds, and positioning bulky or irregularly shaped components. Good manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination are necessary. The environment may present tight or awkward work spaces, airborne dust, temperature variations, elevated noise and vibration levels, uneven surfaces, work at height, and restricted access areas under or behind machinery.

Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States without the need for visa sponsorship now or in the future.
