Senior Aviation Buyer

Pay: $30.00–$35.00/hour

Schedule: Monday–Friday 7:30am-4:30pm

Position Summary

A growing aviation company is seeking a highly experienced Senior Aviation Buyer to join its procurement team. This opportunity is ideal for a purchasing professional with 10+ years of aviation-specific buying experience who thrives in a fast-paced environment, excels at supplier negotiations, and has a proven ability to source hard-to-find aircraft components.

This is a senior-level role with high expectations. We're looking for a proactive, manager-caliber individual who brings industry expertise, confidence, and a strategic approach to purchasing while remaining hands-on in day-to-day procurement activities.


Key Responsibilities

  • Source and procure aircraft parts, components, materials, and related products from domestic and international suppliers. 
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with OEMs, distributors, repair stations, and aviation suppliers. 
  • Negotiate pricing, lead times, terms, and supplier agreements to maximize value and support company profitability. 
  • Research and identify alternative sourcing solutions for difficult-to-find or obsolete aircraft components. 
  • Evaluate supplier performance related to quality, pricing, responsiveness, and on-time delivery. 
  • Partner with internal departments to ensure purchasing activities align with customer demand and operational priorities. 
  • Monitor inventory levels and market trends to proactively identify purchasing opportunities and mitigate supply chain risks. 
  • Maintain accurate purchasing documentation and ensure compliance with aviation industry standards and company procedures. 
  • Identify process improvements and contribute to the ongoing development of procurement strategies. 


Qualifications

  • 10+ years of purchasing experience within the aviation or aerospace industry required. 
  • Extensive knowledge of aviation supply chains, aircraft parts, procurement practices, and supplier networks. 
  • Proven success negotiating pricing, contracts, and supplier agreements. 
  • Experience sourcing aftermarket aircraft parts, components, or MRO materials strongly preferred. 
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills. 
  • Excellent communication and relationship management abilities. 
  • Experience utilizing ERP/MRP or inventory management systems. 
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
