Senior Benefits Analyst + Subject Matter Expert + Omaha

Are you the person everyone turns to when a benefits question gets complicated? Our client, a growing Omaha organization is looking for a Senior Benefits Analyst who can truly own the benefits function, from open enrollment and compliance to reconciliations, HRIS administration, carrier relationships, and retirement plans.

In this role, you’ll serve as the internal benefits subject matter expert, working directly with HR leadership while gaining exposure to compensation, total rewards, and new employee engagement initiatives. For someone who enjoys digging into the technical side of benefits but wants room to grow, there’s significant opportunity here.

What You’ll Own

• Serve as the organization’s go-to benefits SME, providing technical expertise across health, welfare, and retirement programs
• Lead the planning and execution of annual open enrollment, coordinating systems, vendors, communications, timelines, and post-enrollment activities
• Reconcile benefit carrier invoices against employee elections and payroll deductions, identifying and resolving discrepancies
• Manage carrier eligibility and enrollment file feeds and troubleshoot data or system issues
• Partner closely with Payroll on benefit deductions, contribution reconciliations, year-end true-ups, and escalated issues
• Serve as the benefits expert within the HRIS, including plan setup, configuration testing, reporting, audits, and troubleshooting
• Coordinate retirement plan administration, testing, reconciliations, audits, and vendor relationships
• Manage key benefits compliance activities, including ACA reporting, Form 5500 support, nondiscrimination testing, ERISA, COBRA, HIPAA, and related requirements
• Work with the organization’s benefits broker, carriers, enrollment partners, and other vendors to resolve issues and keep programs running smoothly
• Analyze benefits data and reporting to identify errors, trends, and opportunities for improvement

What They’re Looking For

• Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, Finance, or a related area; equivalent education and experience may also be considered
• 3+ years experience administering employee benefit programs
• Strong technical benefits knowledge across both health/welfare and retirement plans
• Experience managing or playing a significant role in open enrollment
• Strong benefits reconciliation experience, including carrier invoices, employee elections, payroll deductions, and retirement contributions
• Experience working within an HRIS; Paycom experience is a plus
• Advanced Excel or Google Sheets skills, including lookups, pivot tables, and complex formulas
• Strong analytical, project management, and vendor-management skills
• Ability to manage sensitive employee situations with professionalism and confidentiality
• SHRM-CP or PHR certification is a plus
