Job Description
Magnum Electric is looking to add an experienced Senior BIM Modeler to our team. This position will support large-scale commercial, industrial, and mission-critical projects by producing accurate electrical BIM models, coordinating with project teams, and helping drive quality, efficiency, constructability, and prefabrication planning. This role will also help provide day-to-day oversight, direction, and support for Magnum Electric’s existing in-house BIM modeling team.
Job Responsibilities
- Coordinate with prefabrication teams, vendors, and/or third-party prefab partners to identify opportunities and ensure models support efficient fabrication and installation.
- Produce or support layout drawings, spool drawings, shop drawings, and installation details for prefabrication and field use.
- Work with project leadership, field teams, and prefab partners to ensure modeled assemblies are practical, accurate, and buildable.
- Help align BIM modeling efforts with prefabrication schedules, material needs, and project installation sequencing.
- Lead the creation, review, and management of BIM models and CAD drawings using software such as Revit, AutoCAD, ArchiCAD, MicroStation, Rhinoceros 3D, Grasshopper 3D, SketchUp, Bluebeam, and SolidWorks.
- Coordinate with project teams to develop detailed schematics, system designs, interior layouts, mechanical designs, and 2D animations that meet project specifications.
- Establish standards for drafting practices and BIM workflows to ensure consistency and quality across all projects.
- Collaborate with architects, engineers, contractors, and clients to integrate design intent into digital models effectively.
- Oversee the training and mentoring of junior staff in CAD/BIM tools and best practices to foster continuous improvement.
- Manage project timelines by prioritizing tasks related to system design, graphic design, construction documentation, and schematic development.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards and client requirements throughout all phases of design development.

Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Senior BIM/CAD Manager or similar role within the construction or architectural industries.
- Extensive proficiency in BIM software such as Revit, ArchiCAD, Rhinoceros 3D, Grasshopper 3D; CAD tools including AutoCAD; and supplementary programs like SketchUp, Bluebeam, MicroStation, SolidWorks.
- Strong knowledge of schematics creation, drafting techniques, system design principles, interior design concepts, mechanical design processes, and 2D animation fundamentals.
- Ability to lead complex projects from initial concept through detailed execution while managing multiple priorities.
- Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams.
- A drive for innovation with a keen eye for detail and quality assurance in digital modeling and drawings.
