Senior Bridge Design EngineerWhat you will do:Perform structural calculations, modeling, analysis, and designPrepare contract documents including plans, specifications, and construction cost estimatesManage and lead multi-disciplinary projects from proposal stage, through design, and design services during constructionReview shop drawings and respond to RFIsDevelop, prepare and review reports and studies to identify and recommend engineering solutionsConduct engineering research and provide technical assistance to consulting engineers, contractors, public officials, municipalities, and others as neededDeliver professional presentationsParticipate in meetings with clients and project team membersConduct quality review of structural calculations and contract documentsStay up-to-date with the state of practice, and integrate innovation and technology in designWhat you will bring:Bachelor's degree in civil or structural engineering from an ABET‑accredited university3+ years of experience working on FDOT Bridge projects (state or local agency)Professional Engineer licence in Florida with 6+ years of experienceProficiency in structural analysis programs such as Midas Civil and familiarity with industry software such as Bentley OpenBridge, AASHTOWare Bridge Rating, and MDXProficiency in structural detailing in MicroStation and AutoCADStrong communication skills, both verbal and writtenEnthusiastic, can‑do attitude, and strong team‑work ethicGood organizational skills with attention to detailAbility to work independently and as part of a project team and exercise independent initiativeAbility to work 40 hours a weekWork is primarily performed in an office environment with standard office equipment; occasional travel or field visits may be required to supportOpen to remote candidates residing in Florida with experience working on FDOT projectsBenefitsFull‑time WSB employees qualify for a competitive compensation and benefits package, including medical insurance, dental insurance, vision insurance, life insurance, company‑paid short‑ and long‑term disability, 401(k) with match, paid time off, paid holidays, tuition reimbursement, and opportunities for professional growth and development.
