This position will play a vital role in expanding our presence in Texas, hiring and mentoring staff, and helping guide the overall direction of our growth and expansion in Texas as well as supporting growth throughout the company. Leadership responsibilities include operating with integrity and sound business principles, business planning and strategy, establishing goals, building and maintaining positive client relationships, open communication with partners and team, along with growing and directing the structures design practice. The Structural Engineer will participate in the evaluation, inspection, rehabilitation and design of infrastructure facilities for transportation projects.This position is open to multiple locations within Texas.Requirements:The successful applicant must possess the following:A minimum of 16 years of experience in the bridge designBachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering. Master's Degree or other advanced degree desirableP.E., registered in the state of TexasStrong knowledge of TXDOT Policies and Procedures preferredExperience designing and managing bridge projects and preparing contract documents in accordance with TXDOT Policies and Procedures preferredStrong knowledge of AASHTO Bridge LRFD SpecificationsStrong knowledge of TXDOT specifications, policies, and proceduresExperience with a variety of bridge design softwareHands-on experience with MicroStation softwareQualified NBIS Inspection Team Leader a plusFHWA-NHI Fracture Critical Inspection Training a plusTrack record of developing and growing engineering groups and establishing external and internal relationshipsAbility to manage and mentor staff of all levels and direct resources effectively in a positive mannerExcellent communication and business development skills including developing client relations, strategic partnering, preparing proposals and preparing/delivering presentationsExperience with all aspects of engineering project management including preparing scopes of work, cost estimates, and project schedulesEnsuring quality and timeliness of deliverables and supervising the execution of work.Able to travel to project sites, company offices and client meetingsPositive attitude and willingness to work cooperatively with othersWillingness to continue to learn and grow technically and professionally within the companyOpen to utilizing and developing new technologies and approaches for performing workBenefits:WRA recognizes that employees play an important role in its success.
