HDR is seeking a Senior Bridge Engineer in Ann Arbor or East Lansing, MI. The position is responsible for the design, rehabilitation, inspection, and structural analysis of highway bridges and related infrastructure.ResponsibilitiesPlan, direct, and deliver projects that include bridge design, rehabilitation, inspection, and structural design on DOT and local agency projects, coordinating multiple concurrent projects.Coordinate staffing and workload with other managers to ensure projects are completed on schedule.Establish client relations and support marketing, contractual, and production activities to strengthen existing and future business lines.Collaborate with the Business/Accounting Manager, Project Controller, Company Controller, and the Area Manager or Managing Principal for project reviews.Serve on large national bridge projects, including mega alternate delivery projects.Lead technical aspects of bridge design projects and perform complex structural planning, analysis, and design.Supervise junior engineers on mid‑size projects.Preferred QualificationsMaster's degree in Structural EngineeringProfessional Engineer (SE) licenseExperience with bridge engineering software such as LEAP Bridge Enterprise, FB‑MultiPier, LPile, AASHTOWare BrR, midas Civil, MDX, SAP2000, CSiBridge, ADINA, RM Bridge, spColumn, LUSAS, STLBridgeLRFD, STLBridgeRequired QualificationsBachelor's degree in engineering or related fieldMinimum of 10 years of bridge design experienceProfessional engineering license recognized by the licensing board in the location of assignment (PE or P.Eng)Hands‑on experience in all phases of bridge design projectsFamiliarity with Bluebeam Revu and additional engineering software listed aboveKnowledge of ADINA, LUSAS, Bentley OpenBridge Designer and OpenBridge Modeler, Autodesk Infraworks, and Civil3DProficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, MicroStation, AutoCAD, MathCAD, LARSA, and Prestress Concrete DesignDemonstrated leadership, communication, and teamwork skillsProject management experience is desirableTechnical expertise in engineering analysis and designCommitment to active participation in HDR's employee‑owned cultureCompany Commitment to Diversity and InclusionHDR is an employee‑owned, equal‑opportunity employer.
