You will lead complex bridge projects from concept to delivery, provide quality oversight, and guide the development of engineering staff.This role supports public-sector transportation clients and involves various bridge structure types, from rehabilitation and widening to major concrete and steel bridges.Key Responsibilities Lead the structural design of new bridge projects, widenings, and complex rehabilitation efforts.Perform and oversee structural analyses for major concrete and steel bridge systems, including post-tensioned concrete and segmental structures.Prepare and review bridge plans, calculations, and contract documents per state DOT standards.Perform and supervise bridge inspections, evaluations, and load ratings for existing structures.Apply AASHTO LRFD Bridge Design Specifications and relevant state DOT requirements.Provide QA/QC oversight for bridge deliverables, ensuring accuracy, safety, and constructability.Serve as a technical resource to project teams and public agency clients.Mentor and develop junior and mid-levelParticipate in design reviews, coordination meetings, and site visits.Support business development and maintain client relationships with public-sector transportation agencies.Required Qualifications Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from an ABET-accredited program.Minimum of 16 years of progressive bridge design experience.Professional Engineer license in Florida or ability to obtain licensure through comity within six months.Extensive experience delivering bridge projects for state DOTs and public agencies.Strong knowledge of AASHTO LRFD Bridge Design Specifications.Familiarity with state DOT specifications, policies, and procedures.Experience designing major concrete and steel bridge structures.Proficiency with industry-standard bridge design and analysis software.Strong communication skills and a professional reputation built on technical credibility.Preferred Qualifications Master's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.Experience with complex bridge systems, including vessel collision loading.Experience with alternative delivery methods such as design-build or P3 projects.Previous QA/QC leadership or technical review authority.Experience working with multiple state DOTs.What Success Looks Like Bridge designs are technically sound, code-compliant, and efficiently approved by agencies.Projects progress with minimal rework and strong constructability outcomes.Junior engineers receive consistent, high-quality technical mentorship.Public agency clients view you as a trusted technical partner.The bridge practice continues to grow in capability, reputation, and staff strength.Why This Role Long-term stability within a well-established engineering environment.Opportunity to lead infrastructure projects that impact communities.A culture that prioritizes engineering excellence and professional respect.Competitive compensation and comprehensive benefits, including flexible work options, healthcare, retirement plans, and professional development support.Work Authorization Applicants must be authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis.
