They also make recommendations for productivity improvements and cost reductions to increase customer satisfaction and project profitability.This position is offered as a hybrid role , combining remote work with in-person collaboration. Team members may visit Siemens local offices or worksites as needed; schedule varies based on project needs and individual performance.Responsibilities Understand project requirements and design building automation solutions for higher education and K–12 facilities, data centers, hospitals, pharmaceutical facilities, high-rise buildings, and lab facilities.Demonstrate expertise in engineering and contracting processes, with a strong grasp of submittal requirements and documentation standards for project success.Attend internal and external meetings to support opportunities and contribute technical details to project designs; meetings may be held at project sites, contractor offices, and/or Siemens area offices.Prepare and/or collaborate on design documents, including mechanical system layouts, electrical drawings, system integration, bills of materials, sequences of operations, valve and damper schedules, and DDC panel layouts.Design building automation network architecture to support operator workstations, DDC field panels, and third-party integration devices connected via Modbus, Siemens APOGEE, Desigo, or BACnet.Analyze plans, construction contract specifications, and codes to determine project requirements and risks.Design building and space pressurization solutions, chiller and boiler plant sequencing control, etc.Prepare engineering re-estimates and coordinate with sales and management to ensure understanding of and satisfaction with job scope.Perform quality assurance and peer-review of engineering documents.Qualifications Basic Qualifications:High school diploma or state-recognized GED5+ years of experience in building automation (HVAC controls) designAbility to travel up to 35%Demonstrated ability to design large and complex jobs using standard tools, products, and practicesKnowledge of industry engineering fundamentals and business operationsProficiency in engineering design software or drafting tools such as AutoCAD or Microsoft VisioLegally authorized to work in the United States on a continual and permanent basis without company sponsorshipHybrid role with visits to the local area officeOccasional travel for team gatherings, project kick-offs, strategic discussions, or trainingPreferred Qualifications:Associate or Bachelor's Degree7+ years of building automation (HVAC controls) design experienceReady to join Ready to create your own journey? The actual wage offered may be lower or higher depending on budget and candidate experience, knowledge, skills, qualifications, and location.
