We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Lead Building Engineer to oversee the daily operation, maintenance, and long-term performance of a major commercial facility in the downtown Milwaukee area. This role requires a hands‑on professional with strong technical expertise, problem‑solving ability, and a proactive leadership style.The ideal candidate has a minimum of five years of experience in building maintenance—including three years in a senior or lead role—and a strong understanding of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems. This position is responsible for ensuring high standards of building operations while supporting a team‑oriented, service‑focused environment.Leadership & OversightLead, mentor, and support building engineering staff and maintenance personnelCoordinate daily work assignments, preventive maintenance schedules, and service requestsEnsure compliance with safety standards, operational procedures, and company best practicesPartner with property management on capital planning, vendor coordination, and tenant needsOperations & MaintenanceTroubleshoot, repair, and maintain building systems and critical equipmentService pumps, valves, pneumatic controls, HVAC systems, electrical components, and hydraulic devicesAssist with installation, modification, and optimization of building equipmentInspect building interior, exterior, and grounds for safety risks and preventive maintenance requirementsMaintain and operate fire and life safety systems, including alarms and suppression equipmentGeneral MaintenanceReplace and repair building finishes such as ceiling tiles, door hardware, and paintIdentify improvement opportunities and recommend system upgrades or cost‑saving measuresSafely operate all tools, vehicles, and equipment used in facility maintenanceTechnology & DocumentationUse smartphones, tablets, computers, and building automation systems for work orders and reportingMaintain accurate logs, equipment histories, and compliance documentationRespond promptly to emergency situations and after‑hours calls as part of on‑call rotationRequirementsMinimum 5+ years of building maintenance experienceAt least 3 years in a senior, lead, or supervisory role preferredProficiency with mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systemsComfortable using technology for work order management and communicationStrong manual dexterity and problem‑solving capabilitiesAble to lift up to 50 lbs, work outdoors, and stand for extended periodsWillingness to work overtime and participate in on‑call rotationBenefitsWe offer competitive salary and benefits in a team‑oriented environment.
