Senior Business Analyst – Life Insurance UnderwritingThe Business Analyst will support projects, applications, and technologies within Protection New Business and Underwriting, with a focus on platform modernization. This role will translate business needs into detailed requirements for processes and technology that support customer and employee experiences. Responsibilities include gathering, synthesizing, and documenting business requirements, technical specifications, rules configurations, process flows, and UAT requirements. The Business Analyst will work as a liaison between Underwriting and other teams, advocating for necessary changes and translating customer and employee needs into actionable solutions aligned with business outcomes. The role requires the ability to understand system and application interconnectivity, support product roadmaps and prioritization, and maintain strong relationships with technical and architecture teams. The successful candidate will work independently on highly visible and complex products and projects within a dynamic, matrixed organization. Strong collaboration, strategic thinking, process analysis, and requirements documentation skills are essential, along with the ability to support change management, launch readiness, continuous improvement, and implementation activities.Job Duties:Serve as a Business Analyst for projects, applications, and technologies supporting Protection New Business and UnderwritingSupport the overall Underwriting organization with a focus on platform modernizationGather, synthesize, and document business requirements, rules configurations, and UAT testing requirementsDocument business requirements with detailed technical specificationsUnderstand process flows and ensure interconnectivity of systems and applicationsAct as a liaison between Underwriting and other teams and advocate for necessary changesTranslate customer and employee needs into documented, actionable solutions with clear measurement mechanisms supporting business outcomesProvide appropriate documentation for the Product team to prioritize features and enhancements against a prioritization frameworkSupport Business Owners, Product Managers, and peers in aligning requirements to roadmapsIdentify opportunities to improve business processes by maintaining knowledge of available and upcoming features delivered by external vendorsUpdate procedures and processes as changes are implementedEnsure development outputs meet business expectations through strong cross-functional relationships with technical and architecture teamsApply change management principles when establishing launch readiness for system and process updatesWork independently and with management on highly visible, divisional, and cross-divisional complex products and projectsServe as a key resource for documenting unique or complex business problemsDrive continuous improvement and efficiencies beyond the scope of assigned responsibilities
