Senior Business Analyst - Onsite

Genesis10 is currently seeking a Senior Business Analyst with P&C Insurance and guidewire experience for a Major Insurance Company located in Chicago, IL. This is a contract to perm opportunity. Must be able to go on site 5 days a week.  

w-2 pay rate for the contract part is $60-65 depending on experience

This role serves as a key liaison between the business community and technology teams, ensuring business intent is accurately translated into application changes. The ideal candidate will leverage extensive experience in P&C Insurance to elicit, document, and manage requirements for claims systems, ultimately delivering solutions that provide significant business value.

Responsibilities:

• Serve as the liaison between the business community and the development team through which requirements flow
• Conduct interviews and lead requirements gathering sessions with business representatives to elicit business requirements for system development
• Document business, system, functional, and non-functional requirements including usability, reliability, performance, and support
• Maintain requirements in alignment with the Project Management Office (PMO) standards of documentation
• Effectively communicate issues to business customers and other stakeholders
• Apply tools like Jira, Visio, and others to define requirements and documentation
• Act as Subject Matter Expert for assigned projects and processes
• Conduct issue triage and escalation as it relates to requirements and technical issues
• Perform Knowledge Transfer with technical teams including Development, Quality Assurance, and Production Support
• Coordinate the building of user acceptance test cases by business partners, as well as the execution of user acceptance testing
• Mentor internal or external Business Analysts and review work product as needed
• Work with application managers and business product owners on prioritizing requests, coordinating UAT, and providing status to business customers

Requirements:

• 5 years of experience in a Business Analyst capacity, with at least 3 years of Insurance business experience (claims, underwriting, agency accounting, corporate underwriting, etc)
• Must have strong experience in P&C insurance Claims systems
• Guidewire Claim Center experience
• Able to work directly with the business to understand business requirements on a project basis
• Ability to understand the business area's functions and systems
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills to communicate effectively with all levels within the organization
• Demonstrated ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously
• Experience with business analysis methodology, process improvement methodology, project and risk management, and industry-related tools
• Aptitude for technology and have extensive insurance experience

Desired skills:

• IIBA Certified Business Analysis Professional (CBAP) or PMI Professional in Business Analysis (PMI-PBA)
