Position Overview
We are seeking a Senior Business Analyst to drive analysis, requirements definition, and delivery support for healthcare-focused projects. The role will partner with clinical, product and technical teams to translate business needs into clear requirements and user stories, manage the backlog in JIRA, and perform data analysis using SQL to inform decisions. The Senior BA will ensure solutions meet regulatory and clinical requirements, support testing and implementation, and mentor junior analysts.
Key Responsibilities
- Work with clinical, operational and technical stakeholders to elicit, document and prioritize business requirements and acceptance criteria.
- Create clear, actionable user stories, epics and requirements in JIRA and maintain the product backlog lifecycle.
- Perform data analysis using SQL to validate requirements, support solution design and produce insights for decision-making.
- Translate business needs into technical specifications for data platforms (e.g., Databricks, Snowflake, BigQuery) and enterprise systems (e.g., SAP).
- Collaborate with architects, data engineers and developers to ensure requirements are implemented correctly and efficiently.
- Support UAT and validation activities, develop test cases, and verify that deliverables meet acceptance criteria.
- Ensure solutions comply with healthcare regulations and data privacy standards (e.g., HIPAA) and adhere to organizational governance.
- Use reporting and analytics to monitor solution performance, identify improvement opportunities and communicate findings to stakeholders.
- Facilitate workshops and working sessions to drive consensus, manage stakeholder expectations and resolve conflicts.
- Mentor and guide junior business analysts, sharing best practices for requirements, user stories and data-driven analysis.
Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in Business, Health Informatics, Computer Science or related field, or equivalent experience.
- 3+ years of experience as a Business Analyst with proven work in healthcare domain and clinical or operational systems.
- Strong hands-on SQL skills for data exploration, validation and reporting.
- Proven experience using JIRA for backlog management, user stories and issue tracking.
- Experience writing clear requirements, acceptance criteria and user stories; familiarity with requirements gathering techniques.
- Solid understanding of healthcare data, workflows, and regulatory requirements (e.g., HIPAA).
- Experience working with cloud data platforms and analytics stacks is highly desirable: Databricks, Azure, Snowflake, BigQuery.
- Familiarity with Azure DevOps, SAP and data integration concepts is a plus.
- Knowledge of data modeling, ETL processes and data quality principles.
- Excellent stakeholder management, written and verbal communication skills, and strong problem-solving abilities.
- Relevant certifications (e.g., CBAP, PMI-PBA, Scrum Product Owner/Analyst) are a plus.
