HumCap is partnering with a healthcare technology company on a search for a Senior Business Analyst to join their product team. This organization helps out-of-network healthcare providers secure fair reimbursement through Independent Dispute Resolution under the No Surprises Act and state regulations —pairing deep industry expertise with advanced technology to get it done. You'll work directly in Arbit, the company's case management platform for healthcare dispute resolution.
JOB SUMMARY
This role covers two things: owning the Arbit support queue —investigating incoming questions and issues and driving them to resolution —and scoping new features alongside the Product Owner. The ideal candidate has owned requirements for a workflow-driven software product (think claims, disputes, benefits, or insurance systems), not a BI or data warehouse tool. This is a systems-thinking role more than a reporting role.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
Support Queue Ownership
Own the Arbit support queue —investigate incoming questions and issues, diagnose the actual gap behind a vague request, and drive each item to resolution.
Dig into the data yourself (SQL or AI tools) to validate what's really happening before proposing a fix.
Flag problems and patterns proactively, before you're asked.
Feature Scoping & Requirements
Partner with the Product Owner and business stakeholders to turn ambiguous asks into clear, testable requirements and acceptance criteria.
Frame trade-offs as concrete options when the system can't fully solve for the business need.
Own documentation that supports development, including user flows, edge cases, and validation logic.
Testing & QA Support
Collaborate with QA to define and verify test cases aligned to requirements.
Support user acceptance testing, including preparing test scenarios and capturing feedback.
Validate production changes and assist with regression testing as needed.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
Serve as the bridge between business SMEs and the technical team, so both sides understand what's needed and why.
Participate in sprint ceremonies —grooming, planning, and demos.
Help maintain traceability of features from concept through delivery and validation.
WHAT YOU BRING
Education
Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business Administration, or a related field.
Experience
10+ years owning requirements for a workflow-driven software product —claims, disputes, benefits, insurance, or similar —not a BI or data warehouse tool.
Has run a support or ticket queue and has a track record of driving issues to resolution, not just routing them.
Healthcare or healthcare technology experience a plus, not required.
Technical Skills
Comfortable digging into data yourself to validate issues —SQL or AI tools are both fine.
Proficiency with project management tools such as Confluence, Jira, or Azure DevOps.
Solid understanding of the software development life cycle (SDLC) in an Agile environment.
Soft Skills
Systems thinker first —someone who diagnoses the real gap, not just a technical skill set.
Takes ownership and drives things independently, flagging problems before being asked.
Excellent communication skills;comfortable translating between business and technical audiences.
