Our client located in Seattle, WA is looking for a Senior Business Data Analyst to complete the following:

Leverage data to drive informed decision-making and business improvements specifically within the Energy & Technical Services (E&TS) Line of Business. This role is a key member of the Reporting & Analytics team, responsible for building the foundational data architecture that empowers teams to make real-time, data-driven decisions. The analyst will actively manage the transition to Microsoft Fabric, ensuring that complex datasets from construction and energy performance are transformed into actionable insights.

RESPONSIBILITIES & ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Fabric Ecosystem Management: Actively manage the migration of semantic models into Microsoft Fabric, re-platforming existing dashboards and architecting new solutions natively within the Fabric environment.
  • Advanced Dimensional Modeling: Design, build, and maintain sophisticated dimensional data models (e.g., Star Schema) to support E&TS business logic and enterprise-wide reporting requirements.
  • Systems Integration & Leadership: Architect high-level Power BI solutions that integrate data from Procore, Salesforce, and ERP systems to provide a holistic view of business health.
  • E&TS Strategic Analysis: Utilize advanced modeling and machine learning to support energy-specific business strategies and identify operational risks or opportunities.
  • Agile Project Ownership: Lead end-to-end analytics projects within an Agile framework, managing iterative sprints and ensuring timely delivery of high-value data products.
  • Fabric Co-Management: Partner with Software Engineering to optimize data pipelines and ensure reliable, scalable data workflows within a CI/CD environment.
  • Mentorship: Provide technical guidance to other analysts on SQL, dimensional modeling best practices, and advanced Power BI development.

TIME ALLOCATION

  • Fabric Management & Dimensional Modeling (35%): Migrating semantic models, re-platforming dashboards, and building robust data architecture.
  • Advanced Data Analysis & Strategic Insights (25%): Identifying trends and providing actionable insights for the E&TS LOB.
  • Dashboard & Reporting Leadership (20%): Developing integrated reporting solutions for leadership across departments.
  • Collaboration & Stakeholder Management (10%): Acting as the liaison between business partners and technical teams.
  • Agile Leadership & Mentorship (10%): Managing sprints and training staff on best practices.

REQUIRED EDUCATION, KNOWLEDGE, AND ABILITIES

  • Advanced Power BI & Fabric: At least 5 years of experience with Power BI. Proven experience building and managing semantic models specifically within Microsoft Fabric.
  • Data Architecture: Expert-level knowledge of dimensional modeling and relational database concepts.
  • Technical Proficiency: Advanced proficiency in SQL/T-SQL and experience with programming languages like Python or R.
  • Integrated Tool Expertise: Practical knowledge of Procore, Salesforce, and ERP systems (and their underlying data structures) is required.
  • Data Governance: Strong understanding of data integrity, security, and governance standards.
  • Project Management: Familiarity with JIRA/Azure DevOps and Agile/Scrum methodologies.
  • Industry Context: Experience in the Architectural, Engineering, and Construction (AEC) industry is a significant plus.

  • Successful migration and re-platforming of E&TS dashboards and semantic models into Microsoft Fabric.
  • Creation of performant dimensional models that integrate data seamlessly from Salesforce, ERPs, and Procore.
  • Strong technical leadership and adherence to data governance and quality assurance standards.
  • Onsite vs. Remote: Hybrid, 1-2 days per week in office
