Senior Business Development Manager – Capital Projects
Olive Recruiting is seeking an experienced Senior Business Development Manager to join one of our valued clients. This is an outstanding opportunity for a driven sales professional who excels at building executive-level relationships, identifying new market opportunities, and driving revenue growth through large capital projects (CAPEX) across the energy, infrastructure, and industrial sectors.
Our client is a well-established provider of specialized commissioning, construction support, industrial services, and capital project solutions, partnering with customers on complex projects throughout the Americas.
The ideal candidate is a strategic business development professional with experience pursuing large, project-based opportunities, expanding key customer relationships, and successfully navigating long, complex sales cycles. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys partnering with owners, EPC firms, engineering consultants, industrial contractors, manufacturers, and other stakeholders involved in major capital investments.

Compensation: Starting at
$175,000, depending on experience and qualifications, plus a 15% annual performance bonus.
Direct Hire: This is a full-time, direct hire opportunity (not a temporary position).
Key Responsibilities- Develop and execute business development strategies that drive revenue growth and expand market presence.
- Identify, pursue, and secure new capital project (CAPEX) opportunities across the energy, infrastructure, industrial, and related markets.
- Build and strengthen long-term relationships with owners, EPC firms, engineering consultants, industrial contractors, manufacturers, and other key decision-makers.
- Grow existing customer accounts while identifying new project opportunities and strategic market segments.
- Lead business development efforts from early project identification and front-end engagement through proposal development, commercial negotiations, contract award, and successful project handoff.
- Collaborate with operations, engineering, technical, and commercial teams to develop competitive, customer-focused solutions.
- Prepare and deliver compelling presentations, proposals, and commercial strategies that clearly communicate value.
- Maintain an active pipeline of qualified opportunities while providing accurate sales forecasts and market intelligence.
- Represent the organization at customer meetings, networking events, conferences, trade shows, and industry functions.
- Monitor industry trends, competitive activity, customer needs, and upcoming capital investments to identify new business opportunities.
Qualifications- Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, Marketing, or a related field preferred, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Five or more years of business development, technical sales, account management, or commercial leadership experience within the energy, industrial, infrastructure, engineering, construction, or technical services industries.
- Demonstrated success developing new business while growing strategic customer relationships.
- Experience selling complex capital project (CAPEX), engineering, construction, commissioning, or technical service solutions.
- Strong understanding of consultative selling, project pursuit strategies, enterprise account management, and long sales cycles.
- Proven ability to develop qualified sales pipelines and convert opportunities into profitable business.
- Strong commercial acumen with the ability to identify customer needs and position value-driven solutions.
- Experience working with owners, EPC firms, engineering consultants, industrial contractors, or other major capital project stakeholders is strongly preferred.
- Excellent communication, presentation, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
- Proven ability to influence executive-level stakeholders and decision-makers.
- Highly organized with strong strategic planning and business development skills.
- Proficiency with CRM systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Must be authorized to work in the United States without current or future employer sponsorship.
- Willingness to travel as business needs require.
