ABOUT THE ROLE
Our client, a well-capitalized financial institution with a strong presence in the middle-market banking space, is seeking a Senior Business Development Manager to help expand its commercial lending platform in the Los Angeles market. This is a high-visibility role focused on originating new business, managing client relationships, and partnering with leadership on portfolio growth strategy. Ideal for a polished banker with strong credit acumen and an established network in Southern California.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Drive new commercial banking business through relationship development with middle-market companies, investors, and professional referral sources
Manage and grow an existing portfolio while maintaining strong credit quality and client satisfaction
Structure and evaluate commercial loan opportunities across C&I, owner-occupied real estate, and investment real estate transactions
Prepare and present credit recommendations to internal approval committees
Partner with legal counsel, borrowers, and internal teams through documentation and closing processes
Monitor loan performance, covenant compliance, renewals, and overall portfolio health
Stay informed on local market activity, competitor trends, and business opportunities throughout the Los Angeles region
Represent the bank at networking events, industry functions, and community organizations to enhance market visibility
Mentor junior team members and provide support to leadership on departmental initiatives
Ensure adherence to internal policies, regulatory expectations, and sound risk management practices
