Position Title: Japanese Bilingual Accountant
Location: Costa Mesa, CA
Classification: Full-Time, Non-Exempt
Work Schedules: 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM (2 floating remote days per month)
Summary
A prestigious global
trading corporation is seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Accountant to
join their finance team. Operating as a key contributor within a highly
collaborative business services environment, the successful candidate will
manage general ledger functions, balance sheets, and profit and loss accounts
for designated profit centers. This role offers an excellent opportunity for an
accounting professional to expand their expertise in corporate compliance,
internal controls, and international business operations.
Essential Duties and
Responsibilities include but are not limited to
accurate balance sheet and profit and loss accounts for assigned profit
centers.
all applicable balance sheet (BS) and profit and loss (PL) accounts, with
a primary focus on inventory, accounts payable (AP), accounts receivable
(AR), prepaids, and accruals.
comprehensive monthly, quarterly, and yearly closing tasks, ensuring
strict adherence to corporate deadlines.
review, and post precise journal entries and perform routine bank
reconciliations.
with day-to-day cash management tasks and treasury functions.
and review employee expense reports for policy compliance.
the internal controls framework and participate actively in internal and
external audit preparation.
management with the preparation of financial forecasts, annual budgeting
tasks, and regular financial reporting.
ongoing compliance with relevant financial regulations and corporate
policies.
Qualifications
degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related
field.
4 years of hands-on General Ledger (G/L) accounting experience.
proficiency in Microsoft Excel (including pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, and
advanced data formulas).
understanding of month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing processes;
strong attention to detail; and a proven ability to meet strict deadlines.
interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively across
multiple business units.
language skills in Japanese and English.
foundational understanding of internal controls and corporate compliance
protocols (preferred)
utilizing SAP or a comparable tier-1 Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP)
system (preferred)
