Senior Business Intelligence Developer

Location: Troy
Duration: 13 weeks
Work Schedule: Monday Friday, 8:00 AM 5:00 PM
Work Arrangement: 1 day onsite / 4 days remote
Hours: 40 hours per week

Job Summary

Under the direction of a Manager, Director, or Lead/Experienced Developer, the Senior Business Intelligence Developer will implement comprehensive data solutions by extracting, collecting, analyzing, and reporting data in a user-friendly and actionable format. This role develops reports, dashboards, tools, and provides consultative support to a wide range of stakeholders including physicians, hospital leadership, finance teams, revenue cycle, service lines, clinical/non-clinical services, and regulatory bodies.

The ideal candidate will support and enhance a data-driven culture by collaborating across teams to gather data, generate reports, develop automated tools, and provide actionable insights. The candidate must be comfortable presenting information to all organizational levels including executives, physicians, clinical staff, peers, and external regulatory agencies.

This position requires the ability to independently develop data assets, ad-hoc reports, and reporting processes that support strategic goals and business initiatives while maintaining high-quality deliverables, meeting deadlines, and adapting quickly to evolving customer needs.


Key Responsibilities

  • Create reports, metrics, dashboards, tools, data models, data marts, cubes, and process flow documentation.
  • Fulfill priority reporting and analytics requests for Service Lines and other departments.
  • Partner with Population Health and HFPN leaders to design and deliver data-driven solutions.
  • Serve as a liaison between Analytics teams and Business leaders.
  • Gather and document business requirements through centralized intake processes.
  • Identify existing analytics solutions or develop new reporting/product delivery plans.
  • Pull and analyze data from internal and external systems including MiHIN, Payor Interfaces, Azara, and others.
  • Support analytics initiatives related to:
    • Per-Member-Per-Month (PMPM)
    • Case Management
    • Ambulatory and Utilization Management
    • Revenue Cycle Analytics
  • Work with charge, billing, claims, payment, adjustment, bad debt, revenue, and customer service data.
  • Develop automated reports, dashboards, tools, curated datasets, and analytics solutions aligned with yearly initiatives.
  • Build multidimensional semantic layers and analytics query objects for end users.

Required Qualifications

Education

  • Bachelor s Degree in:
    • Healthcare
    • Computer Science
    • Engineering
    • Mathematics/Statistics
    • Business
    • Applied Science
    • Or related field

Experience

  • 4 5 years of experience in a Healthcare or Business environment
  • Strong SQL expertise with the ability to build datasets and reporting solutions
  • Intermediate Business Intelligence skills
  • Experience with:
    • Advanced Excel
    • Report development
    • Tool development
    • Requirements gathering
    • Technical documentation
  • Experience with Relational Databases, Data Models, Data Visualizations, curated datasets, and data cubes
  • Experience with EMR systems such as Epic, Cerner, ClientKesson, or similar platforms
  • Knowledge of EPIC data structures is highly preferred
  • Familiarity with source control/code repository systems including SCM or MS TFS
  • Understanding of:
    • Computer programming fundamentals
    • Statistical and Machine Learning concepts
    • Dimensional modeling and Data Warehousing
  • Experience with BI tools such as:
    • Tableau
    • Cognos
    • Looker
    • Toad
    • Minitab
    • Power BI
    • Qlik
    • SSRS
    • Or similar tools
