Job Description

About us:

One team. Global challenges. Infinite opportunities. At Viasat, we’re on a mission to deliver connections with the capacity to change the world. For more than 35 years, Viasat has helped shape how consumers, businesses, governments and militaries around the globe communicate. We’re looking for people who think big, act fearlessly, and create an inclusive environment that drives positive impact to join our team.

What you'll do:
  1. Lead Daily Operations: Oversee daily technical and functional operations for core time and attendance systems (including Oracle OTL and Infor WFM) and manage smooth timecard processing.

  2. Troubleshoot & Script: Troubleshoot custom interfaces, utilities, and SQL/PL/SQL scripts to ensure accurate data flow and system reliability.

  3. Drive Global Harmonization: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to harmonize data flows across Oracle OTL, Infor WFM, and other time & attendance applications into a single global platform.

  4. Requirements & Configuration: Gather global business requirements to configure timecards, pay rules, and system solutions for international environments.

  5. Reporting & Compliance: Create and run OBIEE and Cognos reports to track timecard compliance, support payroll integrity, and maintain data accuracy.

The day-to-day:
  1. Operations & Support: Monitor daily time and attendance workflows, manage timecard processing, and troubleshoot issues across Oracle OTL, Infor WFM, and custom interfaces.

  2. Technical Troubleshooting: Write and debug SQL/PL/SQL scripts, custom interfaces, and utilities to ensure data flows correctly between systems.

  3. Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with global teams to align data harmonization and support major initiatives like the multi-country FTO rollout and platform evaluations.

  4. Configuration & Requirements: Gather business requirements from international stakeholders to configure pay rules, timecards, and system enhancements.

  5. Reporting & Compliance: Run OBIEE and Cognos reports to audit timecard compliance, ensure data accuracy, and safeguard downstream payroll processing.

“This is a site‑based role, employees work 3+ days (60%+) per week from a Viasat office or work location within a standard five‑day workweek.”

What you'll need:
  • Education & Experience: 4 to 5 years of techno-functional experience in time-and-labor systems within multi-country or multi-tenant environments.

  • Citizenship Requirement: U.S. Citizenship is required.

  • Core Technical & System Expertise:

    • Strong expertise in Oracle OTL (Oracle Time & Labor) and Oracle EBS (integrations with Project Accounting and General Ledger).

    • Familiarity with alternative platforms such as Infor WFM, UKG, and Workday (beneficial as we conduct platform RFPs).

    • Experience with custom interfaces like PowWow Timecard.

  • Technical & Scripting Skills:

    • Proficiency in SQL and PL/SQL troubleshooting.

    • Knowledge of Infor APIs and developing rules using Groovy is a plus.

  • Reporting Tools: Experience with reporting and analytics tools such as Oracle Business Intelligence Enterprise Edition (OBIEE) and Cognos.

  • Functional & Soft Skills:

    • Strong background in requirements gathering, documentation, system configuration, and pay rules setup.

    • Excellent analytical thinking and effective verbal and written communication skills for cross-functional collaboration.

What will help you on the job:
  • Strategic Forward-Thinking (RFP & Modernization): Because we are evaluating enterprise platforms for the future, the ideal candidate doesn't just maintain the current Oracle/Infor setup—they bring a forward-looking mindset to help us assess, design, and transition toward our next-generation T&A architecture.

  • Global & Cross-Cultural Agility: As we scale initiatives like our multi-country FTO rollout across 30+ regions, success requires navigating complex, region-specific labor rules and harmonizing requirements across diverse international stakeholders.

  • Proactive Problem-Solving & Data Curiosity: The best analysts go beyond fixing tickets—they dig into SQL queries and reporting data (OBIEE/Cognos) to identify systemic root causes, prevent recurring payroll discrepancies, and optimize workflows before they impact the business.

  • Adaptability in a Lean Environment: Operating in a fast-paced, lean team means being comfortable pivoting quickly, balancing daily operational support with high-impact project milestones, and collaborating seamlessly across cross-functional engineering groups.

Salary range: $110,500.00 - $174,500.00 / annually.
