Job Description:

Join Our Team as a Senior Buyer – Be a Key Player in Driving Supply Chain Excellence!

Are you a change-maker with a passion for leadership and supply chain strategy? Step into the role of SeniorBuyer—a dynamic position where you'll thrive in a fast-paced, ever-evolving environment. You'll leverage your strong interpersonal skills to lead, coordinate, and support critical supply chain initiatives for the Components Division. From tactical execution to strategic planning, you'll drive continuous improvement with our suppliers and manufacturing teams—all while aligning with the broader goals of the ITW Welding Group Companies. If you're a natural leader who’s excited to motivate and inspire a team toward productivity and growth, this is the opportunity for you!

What You’ll Do:

  • Own activities related to procurement, storage, and shipment of materials
  • Champion cost, quality, delivery, productivity, and simplification initiatives
  • Document and celebrate all cost savings and avoidances
  • Cultivate strong, collaborative relationships with key vendors (not just transactional!)
  • Take the lead on vendor negotiations—price, delivery, and quality compliance
  • Build and manage a robust supplier base
  • Conduct impactful supplier visits, evaluations, and quality audits
  • Drive proactive resolution through the Corrective Action Request process
  • Manage material price variance, boost inventory turns, and lead cost-reduction programs
  • Supervise material handlers and inventory specialists and continuously seek smarter, simpler ways to work
  • Align supplier schedules with real-time material requirements (MRD adjustments)
  • Hit MOH targets and keep "non-active" inventory under control
  • Oversee cycle counts and master inventory management
  • Manage raw materials during exciting new product transitions/developments
  • Spearhead strategic sourcing and resourcing projects across the division
  • Collaborate daily with operations, product, and engineering teams

What You Bring:

  • A Bachelor’s Degree in Operations, Supply Chain, or Business Management
  • At least three years of experience in a similar role
  • A solid background in supplier management (negotiation, delivery, and quality)
  • A track record of managing cost savings initiatives
  • The ability to set and crush both short- and long-term goals
  • Thrive in a fast-paced environment and rise to the challenge
  • A self-starter attitude: conscientious, enthusiastic, and always positive
  • Strong prioritization and analytical thinking skills
  • Outstanding communication and negotiation savvy
  • A team-first mindset—you build, embrace, and promote collaboration
  • Exceptional leadership, interpersonal, and time-management abilities
  • Strong computer skills, especially in Microsoft Office
  • Willingness to travel as needed for supplier engagement and audits
