Senior Buyer

A rapidly growing packaging supply distributor is seeking an experienced Senior Buyer & Overseas Sourcing Specialist to lead international sourcing, purchasing, product development, and import operations across its expanding product portfolio.

This role is responsible for managing relationships with overseas manufacturers, negotiating supplier agreements, overseeing import logistics, and identifying new sourcing opportunities that support company growth. The ideal candidate has strong global sourcing experience, excellent negotiation skills, and the ability to balance strategic planning with hands-on execution.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage relationships with overseas manufacturers and suppliers

• Negotiate pricing, terms, lead times, and long-term supply agreements

• Oversee import logistics, including ocean freight, customs, and supplier coordination

• Lead product development initiatives and source new products

• Identify and evaluate new manufacturing partners worldwide

• Analyze purchasing data, inventory levels, and market trends to support business growth

• Collaborate with sales and operations to align purchasing strategies with customer demand

• Monitor supplier performance and ensure quality, cost, and delivery expectations are met

• Support and help develop the purchasing team as the company grows

• Identify opportunities to improve procurement processes and supply chain efficiency

Qualifications:

• 5–10 years of purchasing, sourcing, or import experience required

• Strong background in international sourcing and supplier negotiations required

• Experience managing overseas manufacturers and import programs required

• Knowledge of ocean freight, customs, and global supply chain operations

• Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills

• Experience with product development is a plus

• Leadership experience or interest in growing into a leadership role preferred

• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business, or a related field preferred
