Job description:

Senior Buyer$80,000 - $100,000 per year

Full-Time

We're looking for an experienced Senior Buyer who understands manufacturing, supplier management, and what it takes to keep production moving.

This role is for someone who's comfortable negotiating pricing, managing supplier relationships, reviewing drawings and material requirements, and making sure materials show up when they're supposed to. You'll work closely with Engineering, Project Management, Production, and Quality to support custom manufacturing projects from start to finish.

If you've spent your career buying raw materials, fabricated components, outside services, or other manufacturing-related products, we'd like to talk with you.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Purchasing raw materials, components, and outside services for manufacturing projects
  • Sourcing and negotiating with suppliers to secure the best pricing, quality, and delivery schedules
  • Reviewing stainless steel bar, sheet, and plate requirements and determining material quantities
  • Analyzing supplier quotes and making purchasing decisions based on cost, lead time, and project requirements
  • Creating and managing purchase orders
  • Tracking deliveries, expediting orders, and resolving supplier issues
  • Supporting Project Managers and Engineers with pricing and material cost estimates
  • Reviewing drawings, specifications, technical data sheets, and customer requirements
  • Managing supplier performance and developing long-term vendor relationships
  • Assisting with supplier qualification and onboarding
  • Resolving vendor-related quality issues, returns, corrective actions, and non-conformance concerns
  • Helping improve purchasing processes, reporting, and supplier performance metrics
  • Providing leadership and guidance to junior purchasing team members

What We're Looking For

  • 7+ years of purchasing experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Experience purchasing raw materials, fabricated parts, or industrial products
  • Previous experience leading, mentoring, or supporting other buyers is a plus
  • Strong negotiation and supplier management skills
  • Ability to read blueprints, drawings, and technical documentation
  • Strong Excel and Microsoft Office skills
  • Excellent organization and follow-through
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and shifting priorities without dropping the ball
  • Experience working directly with Engineering, Production, and Project Management teams

Nice to Have

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Supply Chain, or a related field
  • CPIM, CSCP, or similar supply chain certification
  • Experience in fabrication, machining, metal manufacturing, industrial equipment, or custom manufacturing

Compensation & Benefits

  • $80,000 - $100,000 per year
  • Full benefits package
  • Stable manufacturing environment
  • Opportunity to play a key role in project execution and company growth

If you're a manufacturing buyer who understands lead times, supplier relationships, raw materials, and the realities of supporting production, we'd like to hear from you.
