A leading optical medical device organization is looking to hire a Senior Buyer for inventory. The Senior Buyer is responsible for the full purchasing and supplier management lifecycle across allocated categories, with a primary focus on strategic suppliers.

Client Details

Our client is a leading optical medical device company with a US and UK presence. Their global remit also reaches their suppliers too, with suppliers based in US, EU and Asia.

Description

  • Identify and deliver cost‑reduction opportunities by analyzing spend.
  • Collaborate with cross‑functional teams both in the US and the UK.
  • Work closely with senior management across procurement and purchasing.
  • Manage suppliers across the US and the UK - managing the performance, development, and relationship of assigned suppliers.
  • Purchase order management - ensuring lead times and system data is accurate.
  • Share capacity forecasts with managed suppliers monthly, taking ownership for resolving any capacity related constraints.
  • Optimize inventory levels ensuring key metrics are achieved across the supply chain.

Profile

A successful Senior Buyer should have:

  • Procurement experience managing complex or critical inventory supply areas within a manufacturing environment.
  • Advanced operational capability in demand and capacity planning, supplier coordination, PO governance, and escalation of MRB and supply risks.
  • Strong commercial capability, including sourcing strategy development, negotiation, contract implementation, and cost / risk analysis.
  • Proven experience owning supplier relationships, driving performance improvement and proactive risk mitigation.
  • Demonstrated track record of leading procurement projects and embedding process improvements that enhance control and resilience.
  • Ability to influence and challenge stakeholders and suppliers constructively.
  • Proactive, solutions-focused and idea generating team contributor.
  • Able to work effectively across different time zones.

Job Offer

  • Annual salary ranging from $95,000 to $115,000.
  • 15% performance-based bonus, with additional company benefits.
  • Travel to the UK twice a year.
  • Hybrid working, in the office 3 times per week in Marlborough, MA.
