Senior Buyer

The Senior Buyer will manage procurement activities within the ingredients categories (oils, flours & protein), focusing on sourcing, negotiating, and maintaining supplier relationships to ensure efficient supply chain operations in Suffolk County Long Island.

Description

• Develop and execute procurement strategies to source high-quality ingredients.
• Negotiate contracts and terms with suppliers to achieve cost-effective agreements.
• Monitor supplier performance, ensuring compliance with quality and delivery standards.
• Collaborate with internal teams to forecast demand and manage inventory levels effectively.
• Analyze market trends and data to identify cost-saving opportunities and mitigate risks.
• Maintain accurate records of procurement activities and supplier agreements.
• Resolve supply chain issues promptly to minimize disruptions.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives in procurement and supply chain processes.

Profile

A successful Senior Buyer should have:

• Experience with procurement processes and supplier management in the Food Manufacturing industry.
• Ideal candidate has experience sourcing & purchasing ingredients including (oils, flours, and protein)
• Strong negotiation and communication skills.
• Ability to analyze market trends and apply data-driven decisions.
• Proficiency in inventory management and demand planning.
• Attention to detail and the ability to resolve supply chain challenges effectively.
• Collaborative mindset to work with cross-functional teams.
