What Our Client Needs
Our client is seeking a Senior Buyer/Planner to serve as a subject matter expert for global procurement and planning activities. This role will manage direct and indirect procurement, production planning, inventory, and supplier performance to ensure materials and services are available when needed. The Senior Buyer/Planner will also support the Sales, Inventory and Operations Planning (SIOP) process by helping align demand, supply, and inventory plans.

Who You Are
You are an analytical and collaborative supply chain professional with strong planning, procurement, and supplier management experience. You communicate effectively across regions and functions, solve supply challenges proactively, and understand the requirements of working within a regulated environment.

What You’ll Do

• Manage global procurement activities for direct materials and indirect goods and services.
• Create purchase requisitions and orders based on approved supply plans and functional requirements.
• Develop and manage production schedules based on demand forecasts, customer orders, and inventory targets.
• Adjust production plans in response to changing demand, supply constraints, and regional requirements.
• Partner with production teams to ensure timely material availability and proactively address supply disruptions.
• Monitor inventory levels across global sites to support commercial requirements while minimizing excess stock.
• Conduct cycle counts, investigate inventory discrepancies, and implement corrective actions.
• Ensure inventory practices meet applicable regulatory and quality requirements.
• Develop strong global supplier relationships and manage supplier performance, quality, and cost initiatives.
• Evaluate and qualify suppliers and use supplier scorecards to track and improve performance.
• Work with suppliers and third-party partners to resolve supply chain challenges and improve efficiency.
• Analyze procurement and production data to identify trends, cost-saving opportunities, and process improvements.
• Report on inventory status, supplier performance, and procurement metrics.
• Partner with Quality, Production, Logistics, Finance, and other functions to align procurement and planning activities with business goals.
• Participate in and lead continuous improvement initiatives across supply chain operations.
• Mentor and train colleagues on procurement processes and responsibilities.

What You’ll Need

• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field.
• 3–5 years of experience in global procurement, production planning, or a related role, including direct and indirect procurement.
• Strong knowledge of supply chain principles within the medical device industry or another regulated sector.
• Strong global supplier management, relationship management, and negotiation skills.
• Experience with ERP systems such as SAP and/or Oracle/NetSuite.
• Strong analytical and strategic problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills with the ability to work across regions and cultures.
• Strong understanding of regulatory compliance within a global medical device environment.
• Experience managing global supply chain operations preferred.
• ERP implementation experience preferred.
• Supply chain certification, such as APICS CPIM or CSCP, preferred.
