Role Summary

The Senior Buyer will lead procurement strategies and processes to ensure the acquisition of high-quality materials at competitive prices. This role requires extensive market knowledge and vendor management skills, as well as the ability to mentor and lead junior buyers. The Senior Buyer will collaborate closely with various departments to align procurement practices with organizational goals.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee the research and selection of products, prepare and place purchase orders, and evaluate and select vendors based on strategic criteria

  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with suppliers to ensure reliability and quality. Negotiate contracts and terms to secure advantageous agreements

  • Conduct in-depth market research to identify trends and opportunities

  • Analyze competitive pricing and recommend sources of supply that align with company objectives

  • Obtain materials from suppliers at the lowest possible cost while maintaining a focus on quality and timely delivery

  • Utilize analytical skills to assess supplier quotations and make informed recommendations

  • Develop and maintain comprehensive records and files to ensure efficient operations

  • Ensure compliance with material certifications (ISO/IATF/CQI) and oversee documentation related to overseas shipments

  • Communicate Non-Conformance Material Reports (NCMRs) to suppliers, ensuring prompt resolution of issues

  • Monitor and track inventory levels monthly and quarterly to support production needs and minimize excess stock

  • Collaborate with quality assurance teams to uphold product standards

  • Provide leadership, coaching, and mentorship to junior buyers

  • Perform all other duties as assigned

Qualifications (Required)

  • Education: Bachelor's

  • Experience: Minimum of 4 to 6 years of experience. Possess solid working knowledge of subject matter.
