The Senior Buyer will assure compliance with company policies, applicable government regulations and laws and the higher of ethical standards while establishing sources for quality conforming materials and services with competitive pricing and timely deliveries. This person will continually seek new and alternative ideas, products and materials who adoption might improve company efficiency and profitability. You will support the development of new company products by involving suppliers in the initial design.
Responsibilities:
- Analyze and process inventory and non-inventory (sometimes referred to as "Non-Production") requisitions to determine the appropriate source of supply
- Perform purchase order administration to assure timely deliveries of products and services
- Conduct the appropriate level of price/cost analysis to obtain the most favorable economic purchase. Cost reductions will be critical. This position will take the lead on non-inventory activities
- Maintain database for assigned suppliers to assure data base integrity while ensuring suppliers
Requirements
- 2-year Associate's Degree with skills sufficient to meet required competencies at a minimum
- Minimum of five years progressively responsible purchasing related experiences in a manufacturing environment
- Immediate knowledge level of purchasing principles, computer techniques and manufacturing processes required
Preferred Competencies:
- 4-year College degree
- Experience with MfgPro/QAD/MQ1
- Advanced Microsoft Excel Experience
