Your Role
Akkodis is seeking a Senior Buyer for a Contract job with a client in North Waltham, MA (Hybrid). The ideal candidate must have strong experience in strategic sourcing, supplier management, and contract negotiations, along with the ability to drive savings, optimize supplier performance, and support category strategy development. This role focuses on managing procurement initiatives, building supplier relationships, and delivering cost and efficiency improvements.
Rate Range: $50/hour to $53/hour; The rate may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors.
Senior Buyer job responsibilities include:
Lead and execute end-to-end sourcing initiatives (RFx, negotiations, supplier selection) to drive value and mitigate risk.
Develop and support category strategies, aligning procurement initiatives with business objectives.
Analyze supplier proposals, evaluate commercial terms, and provide recommendations for contract awards.
Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders, acting as a key point of coordination.
Perform market research and data analysis to identify sourcing opportunities and cost efficiencies.
Support contract negotiations and drive total cost of ownership (TCO) improvements.
Desired Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain, Business Administration, or related field (Master's preferred).
5+ years of experience in procurement, sourcing, or supply chain roles.
Experience managing $10M-$20M+ spend categories and multi-year agreements.
Strong experience with strategic sourcing, contract negotiations, and supplier management.
Familiarity with ERP systems (SAP, Ariba) and analytics tools (e.g., Power BI).
Strong analytical, organizational, and stakeholder management skills.
Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence and drive decisions.
Preferred Qualifications:
Professional certification such as CPSM, APICS, or similar
Experience in manufacturing, utilities, or infrastructure environments
Knowledge of end-to-end supply chain processes and cost optimization strategies
Experience mentoring junior buyers or procurement team members

Pay Details: $50.00 to $53.00 per hour
